Ralph Lee, the broadcaster's head of factual programming, said that 2.8million Britons will fast for the month of Ramadan starting next week.
Channel 4 will broadcast the call to prayer, known as the adhan, at sunrise on television and over the internet as part of plans to appeal to young Muslims.
Mr Lee said he expected the channel to receive criticism for doing so, but added: "Nearly five per cent of the country will actively engage in Ramadan this month; can we say the same of other national events that have received blanket coverage on television, such as the Queen's coronation anniversary?"
The BBC's broadcast of the coronation anniversary service in Westminster Abbey on June 4 had 1.15million viewers. Mr Lee said Ramadan was "carried out every year, by increasing numbers of committed Muslims, yet the vast majority of people in Britain won't even be aware of its existence. Not surprising when you consider its near invisibility on mainstream TV".

It’s shocking isn’t it. Don’t sit and pity us, get motivated and get out their because this is EXACTLY what you have to look forward to.
Mr. Lee is simply afraid of getting his head cut off, hence he thinks he will strike favour with the Islamicists by showing this great act of appeasement.
CH4 since its inception in 1982, has always done ‘alternative’ programming as an alternative to the BBC and ITV monoliths: an alternative Queen’s Christmas Message usually by a charity or political activist or comedian, ethnic programming, gay programming, disabled programming, niche sports.
This Ramadan programming (the first they have ever done btw) needs to be seen in that context, rather than the Brits caving to the Muzzies. If you know CH4’s history, this is just another bit of ethnic programming.
It WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH until you deny CHRIST and form a pact with satan. YOU BRITS ARE FOOLS... but so are half of America and 2/3 of our own government.

They’ll be sorry.
Good. When does the broadcast of the Doxology occur?
Well said!
