The Republican Partys senior operatives publicly are committing the cardinal sin of promising to spend tens of millions of dollars of its most generous donors money to lard up on data: knowledge. What, instead, is required to restore its ability to make good, winning, decisions is virtue: understanding. This critical distinction appears lost on the politicos.
Memo to the GOP donor base: to win (in 2014 and 2016 and beyond) the GOP can and must get just two things just right. First, the GOP must (and can) reunite its libertarian and conservative factions around the Constitution. Second, the party must (and can) use tech to decentralize, not centralize: sending power to the edge.
How?
As this columnist recently noted, the party can and must regenerate the principled operating alliance between its donor base the high-dollar libertarian financial elites and its popular base conservative, very much including social conservative, activists. This requires leadership humility rather than cleverness.
It readily can be done by the GOPs rededicating itself to the core American principles contained in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. These hold doctrines compelling to libertarians, to conservatives, and to the vast majority of Americas voters including both independents and Reagan Democrats.
These documents contain Americas political genome. They set forth the requisite mission statement for any political party bound for victory: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness from the Declaration of Independence;

The GOP has proven itself proficient at losing, through hubris, elections. It is proficient at concocting numerous explanations. Its operatives and professionals have gone through extravagant exercises the RNC forensic audit or autopsy (or whitewash) being but one to regain their control over the hundreds of millions of dollars to be milked from its elite donor base. Happily it is looking as if that donor base is no pushover.
Wake up people, the only way to change the GOP is to leave the GOP. Republicans should en masse change their party affiliation to Independent
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.............
The LAST TIME we ran a conservative, we ONLY got forty-nine states.
I guess that’s why it hasen’t been tried again.

We have been head-faked into voting for losers that will allow the Inside the Beltway GOPe to continue to be invited to all of the nice Georgetown Cocktail Parties as the political second bananas they are!
We either take away control of the GOP from the GOPe or we have to bite the bullet and start building an alternative conservative party, realizing the damage that will occur as the RAT Party runs loose until we can develop mass and momentum. The GOP may well go the way of the Whigs, but the RATS of that time were Americans. The RATS of today are anti-American.
You might find this an interesting read.
Does anyone know how you go about doing that in Texas? I have wanted to change my registration but can't find the process.
I'd like to see them tell McLame and Lindsey to STFU and sh*tcan them!
That really worked in the past! NOT!!!
Republican Superdonors had better recognize that they will be pissing their money away in any attempt that Karl Rove, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, et al make to influence elections. Conservatives are ideologically and functionally deserting the GOP-E in droves.
They can kiss their bucks goodbye. Hispanic votes won’t materialize, and former grudging nose-holding votes are GONE.
I'm hoping for a third party to form, populated with disgusted former "Republicans", really conservatives, libertarians and other patriots who registered R because there was nowhere else for them to go, and Reagan democrats whose livelihoods and wages are about to be destroyed by the wave of new immigrants and illegals already here.
This immigration thing that Mitch McConnell didn't oppose is the last straw.
Walk away and don't look back.
After Rove and his ilk fixing the game with McCain and the Mittster, and now Mitch and Boner, it's time for something different.
Most observes agree that if President Reagan had spent one or two more days in Minnesota, he would have won that state too!
County election board?
Karl Rove has destroyed the GOP.
In Texas you don’t register for a party. When you vote in the primary your voting card is stamped with D or R depending on where you vote. Don’t know of primaries for other parties. They may have them in other areas if someone wants to provide them. There used to not be any options but D where I live. The stamp qualifies a voter to participate in party caucus and conversely disqualifies them from the other party caucus. So vote in preferred primary or don’t.
Rove’s batting average is under the Mendoza Line.
He should have sent thank-you cards to Ralph Nader and the Swift Boaters to give them credit for his “victories.”
I left the GOP part many months ago. Being an Indy WORKS for me!
