The problem is that these groups are mixing it up right now. Yesterday we had large numbers of the middle class, and today I think we’re getting more determined elements on both sides (the Communists, etc. on one side and the MB’s former rivals but now supporters, the radical Islamists on the other). There will probably be violence.
Rape, btw, is a well-known jihadi technique for devaluing women in a group and expressing contempt for their men. I would very much doubt that there are many, if any, women out there who are on the Islamist side.
