A little bit of research into the backers of Tamarod uncovers Nasserists, Salafists, outright Marxists, et cetera. There are secular elements there, but they are in the minority and are about to get used again just like they were used in 2011. Don’t mistake my jaded outlook for “arrogance”; I refuse to be blind.
