I have not seen this adequately discussed. Are we talking about 50-100,000 new teachers and examiners? How can we support this in a down economy?

The first person or entity who tries to enforce that portion of the law will be labeled a racist.
The two key components which keep us together are being removed as is our sovereignity - one can see why they don’t want to spend the money at the border. They’ll eventually balkanize us just like they did in Yugoslavia - easier to control.

Oh, and they’re supposed to take “civics” classes, too. According to Paul Ryan they’ll get deported if they don’t comply with the requirements to learn English and take civics classes and pay taxes.
We don’t deport them now when they rob, rape, abuse, and murder. What makes anyone think we’re going to throw them out because they don’t show up for civics or ESOL class?
What is Obama using to blackmail Ryan and Rubio? That’s all I want to know. Because there has to be something.
Build hundreds of new schools. Have the illegals build them. Tell them they’ll get paid after they learn English.
You will have to read the bill to find out. Actually, they only have to enroll in a course. There will be no test and no penalty for not learning English. No one will be deported if they don’t learn English.
American-born teachers in the country can’t speak or read proper English. And we’re supposed to believe something magical will occur that will educate 11 million unmotivated losers?

I am a minor expert on speaking broken English that Italian immigrants speak. I learned my craft listening to my grandparents.
I speak very little.....no extremely little Italian. My Parents spoke a little more Italian and understood even more, but were not very fluent in it at all.
When my Grandparents came over in the late 19th to early 20th century, when they had kids, they only spoke English in the house in order to BECOME AMERICANS.
most of the Hispanic people seem to want to take back to south west and make America bilingual or just Spanish speaking and I find this UNAMERICAN.

PS: there is a problem with this. Puerto Ricans are already US citizens and they don't have to know English.
This is simply political theater for the masses. This will never happen, or if any attempts are made to require this it will be stuck down as unconstitutional or so watered down, all that will be required is to say " I vote Democrat"

I love it. No resources to round up “11” million criminals for deportation. But, somehow, every one of them is going to learn to speak right and proper English as a matter of course. There’ll be resources aplenty for that and they’ll all sign up for it right away, ya betcha.
Maybe the government will hire some of O’s ‘activists’ to teach English, and it’s just another gravy train for the unions and their ilk.
I predict this will NOT come to pass - the 11 M learning English. My great-grandmother came from Germany, never really learned English. Her kids did, but then they were taught in school that they were Americans and we spoke English here. Might not be the same these days.
How can you MAKE people learn something? What will the test be?? IF there is a test, it will be nouns only AND anyone with an excuse will not have to take it.
