Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) gave a magnificent speech on immigrants and the meaning of America a few minutes ago. If you tear up and are moved, you understand why immigration reform is so critical. And if you sneer, roll your eyes and disparage his words, then there is nothing any bill or pundit will do to change your mind. Yours, in that case, is a different vision of America than mine.
After recounting the incredible details of his parents struggles and immigration he said:
This is not just my story. This is our story. It reminds us that we are E Pluribus Unum. Out Of Many, One.

Rubio and Rubin are supposed to be conservatives. What they want to conserve, I do not know.

He gave a speech so that settles it.

I tear up every time I hear one of these douches talk about giving away what so very many have fought to achieve in the proper manner. It’s simple you do not reward ILLEGAL behavior,PERIOD!

Fact is, we are being invaded from Mexico.
Truth is, the Mexicans have little interest in assimilating — as evidenced by the plethora of Spanish language TV and radio stations.
Conclusion: Rubio is either deluded or deceitful.

I have not heard his speech, yet I teared up before he even gave it.
Knowing that, as a FL resident, I voted for him caused me to cry about my own gullibility.
My abject apologies to non-FL FReepers.

Marco, I don’t care about the things that liars say, because those things don’t mean anything.
What a mistake you are.

Rubio's grandpa was a illegal alien hanging out in Miami for a few years.

Rubio is deceitful. The very second they illegally crossed our border, they became criminals. They deserve only to be kicked out never to return.
Rubio insults everything that made America great.
I despise Rubio more and more each time he opens his smooth talking mouth.

Big difference between legal and illegal. Big difference between a secure border and what we have now. SECURE THE BORDER and then we can talk. And don't be so stupid as to believe Napolitano when she says ‘the border is more secure than it has ever been’. Fewer people are coming because of our economic situation. But the numbers have been growing exponentially since the Senate started yammering about this immigration Bill. There is NO OTHER COUNTRY than you can enter illegally and get all the goodies you can get here. We are sliding into oblivion.

BTW one commenter pointed out that the quotes in Rubin's article didn't always match the words in Rubio’s actual speech. Implying that the GOPe is coordinating a media blitz on behalf of this obscene bill.

Nobody could have predicted this. But y’all will at least have the pleasure of denying Rubio the Republican nomination next time he’s up for election.
