This wouldn't be based on a single personality. This would be based on the multiple dysfunctional-personalities of the GOPe and the fact that so much of the country disagrees with everything Washington is doing, Democrat or Republican.

If disgruntlement was enough 99 percent of the current Washington nouvelle nobility would have been kicked out long ago. A party, especially a new one, must have something to offer in contrast with the evil twins. The formation of the last successful third party, the Republicans, would be the model and it was no single personality that did it. It was a core cause, a set of principles and policies, and a core group group that met in Ripon, Wisconsin. The key "personality", a modestly successful lawyer from Illinois, emerged later to lead them to power.
