Legal Insurrection seems the type of site that's likely to attract quite a few lawyer types. So it is interesting and probably quite informative that after the first real week of George Zimmerman's trial, and after 816 votes, 94% of those who've voted say they believe George Zimmerman is winning his self-defense case.
31 people, less than 4%, have expressed the opinion that the prosecution is winning the case, with another 2% or so not sure.
Completely unscientific, of course, and not necessarily a reflection of what the jury will do in either case.
Still, I personally think it's a good indication of how things are going.
Unless, of course, there actually IS good, solid evidence Zimmerman murdered Martin.
If there were, then I would certainly be for Zimmerman paying the consequences.
I’ll put it another way: I am absolutely FOR justice for Trayvon Martin.
If Zimmerman actually hunted Trayvon Martin down and murdered him because Martin was black, then I would argue for a death penalty for Zimmerman. That would be justice for Trayvon.
If Trayvon Martin was the aggressor, then he’s already gotten his justice. I’m for that, too. If Martin viciously attacked Zimmerman for doing his duty as a neighborhood watch captain, or because he was a “creepy-ass cracker,” then I’m all for Trayvon Martin getting a slug in his heart.
Either way, I’m for justice for Trayvon Martin.
My position is, in fact, the NON-RACIST, PRO-JUSTICE position.
I just haven't seen ANY solid evidence this was the eevil white hispanic picking on the poor black kid, stalking him, then shooting him. None whatsoever. If they bring something solid, I can change my mind, but so far, it's not there.
Right now, it's going to be your scenario, unless there is fear from the jurors of racial reprisal. Stranger things have happened, with all the solid evidence of his guilt, they let OJ go.

Recall that during the Duke Rape Hoax, a suggestion by a local reporter that new evidence allowed for reasonable doubt provoked Nancy Graceless to scream that we all might as well just move to to Nazi Germany where they don’t have juries.
I still LOL every time I see that. It really is solid gold comedy the whole way through.
Correct. Normally, after the prosecution has presented its case, the casual viewer would be demanding the immediate execution of the suspect and disbarment and jail for the defense attorneys for even accepting such a menace to society as a client. It’s pretty much the opposite so far.
A guy got shot exactly one week ago for a pair of new LB shoes.
I find an excuse to dredge it up about once a quarter, and that’s half the reason. The rest is to make sure everyone is reminded what a useless unprincipled low-life Nancy Grace is.
That was about 15 miles from here as the crow flies. The CCW holder who took out the trash got back in line, the cops showed up, pronounced a good shoot, and left. I don’t think he even rode to the station for questioning, and I dont believe he had to give up his weapon. You’ve got to love it.
