“I’m guessing he also got help within the NSA...”
That’s the important part of the story. The outside help he got from Wikileaks associated people may be interesting from the point of view of possible legal actions against them, but that he was getting that help doesn’t tell us much. Based on no knowledge of how things works, it surprises me that a guy could be applying for a job in March, get hired, and be in a position to access deeply secret stuff by early June. Even if he had the requisite clearances from his former employment, and even if he couldn’t do his technical maintenance work without access to the secrets, should he be trusted so soon by his employer not to appropriate the files? In other words, why wasn’t somebody watching him? I’d like to know who greased the skids for him to get the job.
Wikileaks has that whiff of useful idiot... attractive - young - doing stuff waaaaay past their pay grades... As far as ‘help’ within NSA? Anyone who could pull this off has covered all tracks - 8 months - a year ago - maybe longer. I don’t know anything about this - just guessing.

The outside company who checks their security clearances....and that company was and is now under investigation for sloppy work....and more.
Snowden played the game from the get go , long before he was hired at Allen Root NSA,..with Wikileakes Assange, that seems to be becoming more clear as this moves along.
Assange needed to up his anti as his revenues were drying up faster than he could replenish them. Lots of fall-out in his organization as well....not to mention he couldn’t move freely where he is.
I said from the get go Assange was in this..and i still say so...the only reason he’s now trying to distance himself and his group from Snowden is he expected to be out of his “prison” via Ecuador ..now......and they aren’t coming thur for him...
Ecuador’s playing their hand..and everyone else as well....Snowden and Assange are pawns for them to move on the International Stage..and they are doing just that with them both.
I have to giggle....these guys thought they could play in the Big Boys game and both of them simply got cornered like mice running in circles....depending on Foreign Governments was their first stupid mistake.
MAYBE Obama LET him steal all this stuff because he’s getting BLACKMAILED by FOREIGN ENEMY COUNTRIES because they KNOW WHERE HE WAS BORN!!.....I know...tin foil hat time.
