Egyptian security and medical officials say an American has been killed in the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria during clashes between supporters and opponents of Egypt's embattled President Mohammed Morsi.
Alexandria security chief Gen. Amin Ezz Eddin told Al-Jazeera TV that an American was killed Friday in Sidi Gabr Square while photographing the battles between opposition youth and members of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails.
A medical official told The Associated Press the American was wounded by gunshots and died at the hospital.

We have the fortunate opportunity to tour Egypt several years ago. While there for a couple weeks we went to Cairo, Luxor and Abu Simbel. Our private guide (a Coptic Christian) was extremely helpful and a wonderful person. The sights surpassed our already high anticipation. However, there was an undercurrent of moozlum idiocy even back in 2009. Things there are now so unsettled that our guide is in the US applying for asylum, feeling he must leave his beloved country for his safety. The moozlums are anti-civilization and blood-lusting maniacs. Peaceful religion...Meh!
Looks like Obama has ready our Marines....Question is will he put them in the middle of this mess....Morsi and opponets of.... are ready to rumble big time there..and they’re bringing clubs of all sorts to do the job....
“Military source confirmed the presence of 3 #US. warships in the Red Sea on board 2000 “Marines” to provide support if necessary” .

Muslims are at war with one another. Therefore it really doesn’t matter that much even if this victim was a Muslim. It wouldn’t protect him from violence. Also, it seems that whatever he was doing there, he was hit by gunfire that wasn’t just aimed at him but somebody was shooting in the area and he was hit. At least that’s the impression I got...
Am going off line now...til tonight...will catch up later on the status in Egypt.
“I see a bad moon arisin’, I feel trouble’s on the way”.
“Whoa, as I was reading your comment, that song came on the radio!”
That’s called a “God Wink”.
He was Jewish. http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/US-citizen-killed-identified-as-Jewish-student-Andrew-Pochter-318114
I guess it might be a good idea for Americans to get OUT OF ISLAMIC NATIONS.
These are war zones
I forget, is this foreign policy success story #279, or #4334 for Nobama?
Thanks for that incredible photo.
They appear to be peaceful like a Tea Party protest.
Que the “Miss Me Yet” Mubarak picture
Thank you for the pictures.
FYI, if you look at any of these pictures and you want to know who is for Morsi and who is against:
For Morsi: different colored flags, black, green, white, etc. Hardly, any Egyptian flags
Against Morsi: ONLY the Egyptian flag plus crossed pictures of Anne Patterson and 0b0z0
- 22 million are expected to come out tomorrow from Alexandria in the north to Aswan in the south.
- Yesterday in Port Said, a bomb was thrown from a roof into a demonstration of rebels. People saw a flash in the air then it landed on the pavement with a thud. An Egyptian correspondent leaned over to investigate. It exploded killing him and injuring a number of rebels.
- Today at 5:30 AM Port Said time, two SUVs full of beards went through a street firing automatic weapons in the air to intimidate people in their beds.
- On Egyptian “Own TV” channel, Sheikh Mazhar Shaheen was on the phone to the anchor and a Christian Copt from Port Said as a guest who reported the above Port Said. Shaheen lambasted Morsi and his disastrous stand on the already-started civil war, which Morsi could avert by resignation. He greeted the Coptic guest and called him “our honorable uncle (elder).”
- Demonstrators are at Morsi’s Ettihadeyya Palace in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo, even if he’s already in hiding in some other palace.
- some of the routes of the rebel marches are known. The most dangerous one is the one headed to the Rab’aa el Adawiya mosque where the main body of the Ikhwan is located, not far from the Ettihadeyya Palace. If there is no military and armor there, expect tremendous casualties. A real-time camera INSIDE showed an Ikhwan war room with posters of their “martyrs” and signs plastered on the walls. This is something against “their” religion but its the same case of black churches used for communist campaigns here. Any conservative church “suspected” of such, gets the IRS...same ol’ same, do as I say, not as I do!
Later....
It's possible he was a white arab.
Latest in Egypt:
- Morsi meets with Defence and Interior Ministers. DUH, to save his sorry ass! Fat chance! Military spokeseman denied that the Republican Guards (president’s guards) stopped the motorcades of defence and interior bosses on their way to Qubba Palace [10 miles from Ettihadeyya Palace (=WH) surrounded by rebbels]
- Armor deployed at approaches to Cairo airport.
- Freedom & Justice Party (Ikhwan) HQ in Bani Swaif, southern Egypt was burned down.
- Smuggled video shows the above party personnel somewhere handling weapons and cautioning each other to be careful with “loaded” weapons. The video was handed out to the police to arrest the people involved.
- One killed, 6 injured, 4 of them cops, in an attack on a police precinct by “unknowns.” (Ikhwan)
- Ikhwan shut down traffic in streets leading to where they are gathering in Cairo (see my #94) They are also threatening killing the rebbles tomorrow, which against the law anywhere. Eventually, all this will be punished by imprisonment.
- The military strengthening defenses around 43 prisons in Egypt. They are avoiding a repeat of what happened in Jan ‘11 when the Ikhwan were freed from jails, including most of the ruling elite now headed by the most infamous of them, Sadat’s murderers and YESSIREE, MORSI HIMSELF. Then, Morsi pardoned them!
The ex-con will be gone! Maybe, in this would be a good English bumper sticker for cars standing in lines, miles long for gas and diesel!
Worse than infidel. Jooo! (Mossad and CIA agent, too, of course)./s
