Polygamists nationwide are cheering the Supreme Court’s rulings on Wednesday, which paved the way for gay marriage in California and federal recognition for married same-sex couples.
“I was very glad,” polygamist Anne Wilde told Buzzfeed on Wednesday. “The nuclear family, with a dad and a mom and two or three kids, is not the majority anymore. Now it’s grandparents taking care of kids, single parents, gay parents. I think people are more and more understanding that as consenting adults, we should be able to raise a family however we choose.”
Joe Darger, a Utah-based polygamist who has three wives, told Buzzfeed that the court “has taken a step in correcting some inequality, and that’s certainly something that’s going to trickle down and impact us.”
Anita Wagner Illig, head of the group Practical Polyamory, told U.S. News & World Report that the Supreme Court had set a welcome precedent.
“We polyamorists are grateful to our brothers and sisters for blazing the marriage equality trail,” she said. “I would absolutely want to seek multi-partner marriage — it would eliminate a common challenge polyamorists face when two [people] are legally married and others in their group relationships aren’t part of that marriage.”

I won’t be surprise if they legalize adult-child marriage before Obama is out of office...IF he is ever out of office.
Why not? Marriage means nothing now. Just end governmental recognition of it. Let churches handle it.

Rush was very succinct on one of his shows: No one ever thought gay marriage would ever be a reality. WHAM!!!! It is. Polygamy and Pedophelia are next. These people think long term and wear you down. It’s only a matter of time. Disagree with me? Fine. Just yesterday someone detailed all the BS in Massachusetts that happens in schools with this movement.
Of course it will. The whole idea was to destroy the idea of marriage between one man and one woman and they will do it by taking it to the absurd.
I don’t think government should have been involved in the first place.
People can have whatever ceremony they choose. Government should simply ignore it and treat everyone equally as individuals.

There aren’t many good points in this terrible ruling from the court, but one small positive here is that as the definition of “marriage” expands, many wealthy people who don’t care about the real meaning of marriage will marry their own children just before dying to pass on assets without the death tax. It doesn’t balance the loss to civilization, but any blow to big government’s funding is worth at least a brief smile.
WAY more historical precedence for polygamy then for so called Gay Marriage.
We have to be over a certain age according to state law.
We can't be related.
We can't be married to another when we enter into marriage.
We also can't marry an animal, a bird or fish.
Just a reminder - Everything Obama touches turns to crap.
If Heather can have two mommies she certainly can have two mommies and a daddy. Polygamy is already legal de facto if not de jure.
