Civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson tells the Associated Press that he will help embattled celebrity chef Paula Deen overhaul her image after her past use of a racial slur was revealed. He tells the AP that she shouldn't become a "sacrificial lamb" over the issue of racial intolerance.

I hate seeing a manufactured race event that requires a white to grovel to a professional race baiter...
To pay the going extortion rate for an indulgence?
Pathetic. Paula, you have jumped the shark. Forever a hostage to the REAL racists.
Okay. Lol.
Kind of expected it from him, though.
He’d do it today, if he had the chance!
Yup.
He is too busy right now. He is waiting in the wings for the conclusion of the Travon Martin trial (along with Al Sharpton). They are probably having nightly conference calls about it.
She had some really good recipes and was very personable. At one time at The Local Watering Hole we old guys used to watch her on Food channel. She was great and made food we remembered.
Food channel changed...Giada...gah...and became more pc.
Now I catch Ree Drummond, the Pioneeer Woman, and a few others but miss the stuff Paula used to make.
Her original stuff was fantastic and reminded me of my youth.
One show I do like now is New Scandanavian Cooking on Create TV. Not so much recipes I like but I have learned a lot.
Oh another show mrs p6 and I never miss is....QVC In The Kitchen With David. His sexual orientation may be questionable and he is selling more than cooking but some of his recipes have been wonderful.
Exactly.
Hubby and I have never been fans. And we even like rich food and southerners and everything. But we just always found her a big turn-off.
Do I think she’s getting a raw deal lately, yes.
But can I get real excited about it, no.
Well, yeah, she is .... the one Barky has in mind for all the crackas.
She was asked by some malignant media dwarf whether, growing up in the South 50 years ago, she had ever used the word "nigger" about a black person. She was honest and said, well, yeah, but that was a long time ago ..... which was instantly ignored by the media dwarf, who immediately collected on the winning ticket.
She should have told the dwarf to "GFY". There's no more room for honesty or honest discussion in media anymore, and the people going around baiting whites for "not having an honest discussion" about race, are really only trolling for episodes like this one.
That's the only motive there ever is, really.
You have the story wrong. She was asked by an attorney, not by the media. It was a deposition, not a TV show. She answered on the record. And in what I saw, she never said that was a long time ago. And recently, she wanted to have a slave wedding.

By the way, I also noticed how you smeared all Southerners.

I admit that I’ve never watched her shows. I’m just not much into following celebrities.
I never even heard of Paula Deen until this past week.
.
LOL!
She might do better with Billy Graham.
