Obama clashes with African host over gay rights

President Barack Obama on Thursday praised the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage as a "victory for American democracy" but clashed with his African host over gay rights in a sign of how far the movement has to go internationally.

Obama said recognition of gay unions in the United States should cross state lines and that equal rights should be recognized universally. It was his first chance to expand on his thoughts about the ruling, which was issued Wednesday as he flew to Senegal, one of many African countries that outlaw homosexuality.

*snip*

Papi Nbodj, a 19-year-old student who stood by the road to the presidential palace to see Obama's arrival, said homosexuality is against the religious beliefs of most in Senegal.

"We are in a Muslim country, so we certainly cannot have it here," he said. "And for me it's not OK to have this anywhere in the world."

So there must be a great divide, and cognitive dissonance, in O’s brain over this clash of progressive gay advocacy and Muslim gay intolerance.

Sweeet! Couldn’t happen to a better subject. He loses one or the other, period.

Had a feeling that 0zero may be caught off guard by the Conservative attitudes that are prevalent in much of Africa.
Excellent, one-in-the-eye for the Pipe-cleaner.

This is what happens when Obama goes off prompter. His complete lack of knowledge in every area shows.

I know many who claim that “God” led them to vote for Obama. Not sure which god they were referring to, but if they knew their Bible, they should know not to vote for someone who opposes everything God says. You are right - they are ignorant. Many seem to think that the social gospel is why they vote Democrat. However, what they fail to comprehend is that Jesus tells us as individuals to take care of the needs of the poor - not the government.

"We are still not ready to decriminalize homosexuality," Sall said, while insisting that the country is "very tolerant" and needs more time to digest the issue without pressure.

This hardly sounds like Obama being rebuffed. Sounds like a nice bribe (your tax dollars and mine) would do the trick here. BTW, this is EXACTLY how Obama sold gay marriage to the "civil rights leaders" he cultivates.

That wasn’t the president of Senegal. Just Joe Schmoe.

No. Being a Muslim country, they just either practice it in secret or at the expense of juveniles.

“Sometimes I think if Christians stood up for Biblical morality with even 10% of the passion that Muslims defend the Koran, this country would be in a lot better shape.”

Bingo. We were called to be salt and light, but we have grown bland and dull.

On another subject, Obama was pressed in his news conference about the status of former government contractor Edward Snowden, who has acknowledged leaking highly classified documents detailing sweeping U.S. government surveillance programs... Obama dismissed the notion of deploying U.S. military resources to detain Snowden, saying "I'm not going to be scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker."

That's true. He wouldn't even scramble planes to save an "ambassador and a friend".

Not only the native Africans, but many Black people here are not too fond of the gay agenda, to say the least. Based on my own anecdotal life experiences, the Black guys I grew up with would get more offended being called “fags”, “queers”, etc than the n-word.

What Obama and Reggie Love do behind closed doors is their own business. He has no right to push it on normal people.

Clearly Nobama has sold his soul to the devil. We are so close to the grand finale. Perhaps even next week.
