AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry today announced a Special Session of the Texas Legislature will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1. I am calling the Legislature back into session because too much important work remains undone for the people of Texas. Through their duly elected representatives, the citizens of our state have made crystal clear their priorities for our great state. Texans value life and want to protect women and the unborn. Texans want a transportation system that keeps them moving. Texans want a court system that is fair and just. We will not allow the breakdown of decorum and decency to prevent us from doing what the people of this state hired us to do.
The special session will consider the following issues: Legislation relating to the regulation of abortion procedures, providers and facilities.
Legislation relating to the funding of transportation infrastructure projects.
Legislation relating to establishing a mandatory sentence of life with parole for a capital felony committed by a 17-year-old offender. # #

That would be fun! Wish I didn’t live so far away and have to work that day! :)
if there are FReepers in the Austin area, I’d love to see pictures of support for Perry if you can go!
He sure did do the right thing!...for the unborn, and for their moms, too.
not likely with a lefty Speaker and Ds running committees
Well, I just gotta hold out hope for the babies! :)
If at first you don’t secede, try, try again!
Be aware, FReeper Liberty Valance brought up an excellent point in that the Dems know this might possibly be a hit and run special session...(I hope so), so they might try to cut out and hide somewhere around the country to keep a quorum from being called...
They have a history of doing that...When they know they are not going to get their way...
Thall shall not spit upon me and not be spitting blood with a few teeth mixed in for fun...
The time for civility at that point is gone...
And one can have a credible claim of self-defense...
Just my opinion...
I happened to see this reply above the one to me. That is the reason I joined FR when the dims ran to OK and NM back in 2003.
My sentiments exactly.
