Google launched a new Maps product with STUNNING resolution today. A lot of sleuthing and spying needs to be done, and coordinates are needed for points of interest (POI)
Please post interesting points' GPS coordinates. You can Paste these into Google Maps and hit search and then zoom in as far as you can go.

Forgive me if I am not seeing anything new? What am I missing?
Ping
took me a moment as well. change the view to “satellite” in the upper right hand corner. at this location there are, what appears to be, two submarines at dock.
No better res. for me either. Looks the same but loads 5 times slower than my original ‘Google Earth’ page.
The images of my home are at least 2 years old...
I see that but the resolution is not remarkably better than what I’m used to on Google.
An anecdotal story, I checked on my former home in “google earth” and zooming in I can see my ex-husband pulling weeds.
The overhead view is at least a year and some change old. I see my old dark Ranger XLT and old driveway layout. I drive a white truck now.
Streetview shows the new driveway layout though.
A couple years ago I was doing mass deployments of PCs and laptops for a state agency with offices in every county that specializes in welfare.
Anyway a couple of Google maps were way off base. I wrote them back and they acknowledged me and thanked me for the update.
When the few times online maps failed (usually in the small and underdeveloped counties), I found that there is at least one person at a convenience store that knows where that office is. Another pattern I picked up on was that those offices weren’t too far away from DOT and NG Armories.
You sure he wasn’t smoking them?
lol, As far as I know, during the 21 years we were married he didn’t.
Having said that, however, I'm not sure you can zoom in quite as closely now. They may have compensated for the increased clarity by reducing magnification capability. However, you can always use your browser's zoom function to get closer.
Not just submarines.There Boomers. SSBN’s.
I’d humbly suggest a monitor upgrade to those who can’t see the difference. They look STUNNING on my ~30 inch Apple HD, and even better on the Retina Mac Book Pro...
Look up your neat little local FEMA camp. You may be visiting it soon!
I only use for pools in Vegas.
If you go to Google maps after you find what you want, there is an icon to create a link to what you see.
