In our defense......WE were innocent kids in the 50s......repeating things heard........BUT I hasten to add.....as a GOLDEN blonde fishbelly white 5 year old that went to Florida with her grandparents..my new “best friend” was a blacker than the ace of spades 5 year old black child nmed Pinky, that was the daughter of one of the hotel maids........NOW remember the year.......bout ‘58......IN the SOuth......and Pinky and I walking hand in hand on the beach at Daytona......best friends........DAMN I wish I had a picture of that!!
