What was more important to the Man who said that - tax exemption or the Truth?

The body of Christ is manifested by the Truth - not by a blank on some IRS form.

Have you not rendered unto Caesar what is his already and then given some of what you had left to God?

Has Caesar not collected from the various contractors who built God's house? Has Caesar not collected enough through the vehicle and its fuel that took you to God's house? Has Caesar not collected through the utilities that are used to run God's house? Etc....

Why do you want to pave a new inroad for Caesar between you and the works of God's house?

Seems to me, the rendering's been done - over and over and over again and now, this belongs to God.
