Today, June 26th, is DAY #13 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. An explosive second day of deconstructed witness testimony took place yesterday. Which leads to the big question:
Will witness #8, Rachel Jeantel, be called to the stand today?
[Yesterday could] only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmermans praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.
Before we even get to the disaster that was the States witnesses, however, we first have to discuss this mornings hearing and the extent to which it evanescent is the States case against George Zimmerman. State: Zimmerman Is So Good, He Must Be Bad ............

Thank You .
I got a kick out of watching her lips move as she tried to read; and her head went from side to side, too. For Pete sake, the paper was only 8 1/2" wide; she didn't need to move her head. Sad to think, actually, that she can probably only read at a third grade level. If that.
I think that’s why West didn’t make her read it out loud —
Well... do they even have anything else ?
He only gave her a few lines to read. Plaintiff wanted the entire section. That’s when they decided to use previously recorded material. Tomorrow will be a multi media presentation with the court stenographer reading today’s testimony
Pop the corn!
“On April 21, she wrote, ‘I do not know if I want to be a homicide detective u got to tell the family they love one died n shit they crying n shit oh lord I dnt kno.’” http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/twitter/rachel-jeantel-758403
Having watched only the last minutes beginning where the attorney handed her the deposition transcript, asking her to read lines 18-23, the thought of her being a homicide detective is absolutely hilarious.
I am setting my alarm reminder to tune in @ 9am tomorrow. With everything else going, it’s nice to find some humorous entertainment.
I re-watched the video, and the camera isn't on her at first. The Judge told her to SIT DOWN and then the camera goes to her and she is still standing up, but not moving. According to another poster, she was examining her 'court nails' as she was walking away.
Another poster has provided a link to the VIDEO of the testimony.
IF you go to the 15 minute mark, you can see for yourself.
Rachel "Dee Dee" Jeantel (W8) Testimony Pt. 3/3 - 6/26/2013 - Tray
Just a thought :
Does DD have any recourse against ABC for sharing her comments without her permission?
I think that this is where West is going to go tomorrow:
http://gzdocs.com/documents/opening_graphics/timeline.jpg
According to her testimony she has GZ following TM during the first of her last two calls that night. She said the man was following him and then the phone went dead so she had to call back.
But if you look at the timeline GZ was still in the vehicle when that first call ended. Can you spell busted???
When she called back that call extends well into the time period of the beatdown and just 30 seconds from the first 911 call. It would appear that she got to hear a lot of the beatdown before the phone went dead.
Both of those will be problematic for her and consume atleast a full bag of popcorn alone.
The incident began when Darden sought to confront defense witness Robert Heidstra with a statement Heidstra purportedly made to an acquaintance, Patricia Baret. Baret told police that Heidstra said one of the voices he allegedly heard in the alley behind Nicole Brown Simpson's condominium on the night of the murders was that of an older black man.As Darden attempted to explore the issue, Ito--angry because no groundwork had been laid for the introduction of the conversation, as required by court rules on certain subjects in the case--shouted, "Wait! Wait!" The judge ordered the jury out of the courtroom: "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please leave!" The jurors, visibly taken aback by the judge's vehemence, were on their feet and headed for the door before he completed his order.
The prosecutor then explained how police obtained the statement, concluding: "That is the good-faith basis upon which I am asking these questions, Your Honor."
Cochran responded angrily. "I resent that statement," he said. "You can't tell by somebody's voice whether they sounded black. . . . That's a racist statement."
Apparently, we've grown past the racism of identifying how people "sound."

Had forgotten about the time line. Looks like they’ve got her. Will you post that time line at the top of tomorrow’s thread so it will be easily accessible through out the day!
Think they’ll be lucky to be finished in two hours
Reporter: Ms. Jeantel, now that your testimony is done, do you have anything to say?
Jeantel: I'm goin' to Dinneywerl!
15:40 ——16:10 Is the difference between when DD call ends and first 911 call comes in Thirty seconds
I know this game gets played in court, the defense doesn’t want to finish so they can prepare and cross her more tomorrow because she’s a horrible witness, and the prosecution tries to get her off the stand.
But I really feel the judge tried to make the defense finish, and from the beginning when the witness was embarrassing, it seemed the judge was trying to save the witness. everyone was saying they couldn’t hear her yet I could hear every word just fine. The judge kept trying to give her a chance to stop putting racist talk in Trayvon’s mouth.
Face it prosecutors, not only did she say Trayvon acted like a punk, the jury knows he is a punk because he spent all day talking to this idiot.
Thanks for posting the link to the video. I was wrong when I wrote that Jeantel turned her back on the judge. The judge was dismissing Jeantel when she turned to step down from the witness stand, but she was raring to get out of the courtroom.
This is what I was trying to say earlier. She makes Trayvon come across like a whitey hating thug with his comments.
He also, through this witness, talked as if he was hostile and agitated. Just like the attitude of someone who would go back to confront the cracka.
She’s a nitwitness!
Was he Beaton down on Z to impress her?
Of course she's a hostile nitwitness. It's because she is racist and why she lied on the stand multiple times. She's got a chip on her shoulder as big as her neck. No credible person would act like she did on the stand...her comments about getting drunk and high, and how she did her, "Court nails ups" is beyond sick...A man fighting for his life hoping for justice will never get it from Florida government or this racist witness vile witness.
Anything the prosecution does to piss of the judge is a move in the right direction for Mr. Zimmerman.
