Today, June 26th, is DAY #13 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. An explosive second day of deconstructed witness testimony took place yesterday. Which leads to the big question:
Will witness #8, Rachel Jeantel, be called to the stand today?
[Yesterday could] only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmermans praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.
Before we even get to the disaster that was the States witnesses, however, we first have to discuss this mornings hearing and the extent to which it evanescent is the States case against George Zimmerman. State: Zimmerman Is So Good, He Must Be Bad ............

HLN is a disaster and should be completely ignored they are tabloid hacks.
The Judge instructed the witness not to talk to anyone, ESPECIALLY the LAWYERS.
I believe the “16 year old girlfriend”(as opposed to 18 year old friend) stories originated with the ABC reporter who sat in on (unbeknowst to DeeDee, according to her) on the recorded call between Crump, TMs family and DeeDee/Rachel.
That would indicate that the “16 year old girlfriend” lie came either from DeeDee/Rachel or from Crump and the Martin family.
So if this is the prosecution’s star witness then perhaps the prosecution is necessarily counting on the judge’s prejudice against Z, and that prejudice seeping into the jury. IMHO it is difficult to imagine the prosecution hanging its hopes for conviction on this witness...
Well, so far she is the biggest liar, and only the biggest lie can bring JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON.
I can’t for tomorrow. She may be throwing furniture.
Yes but was she (as reports here suggested) walking away from the witness stand before being excused and examining her nails as the judge was giving those instructions?
I thought the defense played it brilliantly when it was obvious that any coaching she got regarding answering questions concisely and directly fell on deaf (and ignorant) ears. She kept giving elaborate answers to the point of talking over the cross-examining attorney, so he eventually just gave her carte blanche to run off at the mouth, and she didn’t disappoint.
Local Radar just mis-identified her as a large thunderstorm, with winds to 45mph and large hail stones.
Actually, Rachel did mention that Travyon had a 16 year old ‘girlfriend’. Her name was not mentioned, but Rachel indicated that she thought that media might have confused the two of them.
>>>What the hell is the biggest piece of bringing justice even mean? <<<
A comment about her weight, perhaps.:)
No.
The judge instructed her not to talk to anyone, and to return at 9am, and then instructed the bailiff to escort her out.
wow. an entire calendar year’s worth of coaching time down the drain. i would imagine that Z’s defense is adapting their cross strategy accordingly for tomorrow...
"Whut's a cellphone?"
If they do they are in contempt of court. Judge gave specific instructions
There was a period before the aforementioned instructions from the Judge where Rachel may have tried to get up and leave. If so, I missed it. If so, then someone told her to sit back down and wait (like the bailiff).
I was posting a comment but still had the video feed going on another tab, and when I came back she was still seated.
So...although she may have tried, she didn’t succeed.
I wouldn’t put it past her to pick up the phone and call Crump and complain.
