I am sick and tired of this loophole. Let's close it once and for all.

Excellent point. Conservative need to understand the importance of setting the context for issues and taking control of terminology used in debate.
The left figured out the power of words decades ago. Its time for a level playing field.

"Because they want firearms in America to be banned. After all. civilian possession of firearms may thwart their communist, fascist, and socialist plans." And that's exactly why the founders guaranteed our God-given rights to keep and bear arms. Eff the left.

Bump!
Our ideological opponents are not interested in honest discussion of issues. Orwell was a prophet in so many ways. We have so many examples to choose from, and the dishonesty inherent in “gun violence” is near or at the top of the list.

What’s perhaps most ironic of all about the overall US statistics is that gun violence is highest in areas where the gun laws are the most restrictive. Places like Chicago, for example.

And them inform them that the term 'Gun Violence' is a linguistic loophole -- and that you aim to close that loophole once and for all."Gun Violence" is simply a euphemism that the hoplophobes use for gun ownership. If you read the press releases, simply substitute the term, and it all makes sense. When they say they want to reduce "violence" they really mean "ownership."

As a prosecutor. I tried eight homicide cases. Cause of death in those cases:
Blunt force trauma: 1
Knife: 5
Gunshot: 2
I think we should ban knives.

One of the reasons that a stronger federal government was formed by passage of the Constitution to replace the Articles of Confederation was in response to Shay's Rebellion.
People shot at tax collectors! Many of them were members of their local militia too. Yet, the same people, mostly, who wrote, passed and ratified the Constitution, insisted upon, wrote, passed and ratified the Bill of Rights, one of which reads
"A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
There is no gun violence loophole.
Not even if the stats were what the gun grabbers like to insinuate they are.

I don't think anyone's looked at it this way, but I am capable of being a rather macabre fellow at times ...
If I had my druthers, I'd druther be shot to death than;
hanged, pummeled with a baseball bat, stabbed, garoted, drowned, burnt up in a fire, suffering to the last moment with cancer, left to die in the frozen wasteland of Siberia, starved to death, having my head cut off, and a few et cetera's.
Putting a bullet in my head would be a seamless existence ..
