BOSTON (AP) -- An NHL-record unbeaten streak to start the lockout-shortened season.

Three straight victories to clinch the title.

From beginning to end, the Chicago Blackhawks skated away from the rest of the league.

Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland scored 17 seconds apart in the final minutes and the Blackhawks rallied to win Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final 3-2 on Monday night to clinch their second NHL championship in four seasons.

Congratulations to them from this Boston fan. They played a very good series.

It was exciting. Too exciting for me.

Much better than watching the Thug NBA Finals.

Amen to that! Heard there were several shootings in Miami when the Heat won the championship a few days ago. Were there fires and riots as well?

My husband and I gave up Thug-ball (the NBA) over 20 years ago. We've pleasantly discovered that the NHL is the anti-NBA.

WHAT an incredible series this was... wouldn't have missed it for the world! We're heartbroken that our Bruins lost to the Blackhawks, but - I have to admit - they are an amazing team... Congratulations to them.

The Bruins did have their problems though, in their quest for The Cup...

Patrice Bergeron played with multiple injuries, including a broken rib

*ouch*

It was breathtaking! I wish it had gone the Bruins' way as well, but the Blackhawks were absolutely incredible.

Congratulations to the Blackhawks, however I hope they're not that good next season! ;-)

The core players on the Hawks are pretty young. They should be a force for the next few years.

The Bruins were not only incredibly tough, but highly skilled. They gave the Hawks all they could handle. Great series!

Yep. Loved watching Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, and Tony Esposito. Nice to see them win.

I remember watching Hull, Mikita, Tony Esposito and Phil Esposito too. Trading Phil to Boston, was one of the worst trades they ever made, but with 2 Stanley Cups in 4 years, all is forgiven. If Hull and Mikita were not in Boston, they will be at the parade, with Dennis Savard too.

Like i have said from the beginning of the playoffs: Boston can suck my Tuukka and stick it up their rASSk.Everybody made a big deal about how he is such a great goalie when he is just average with a great group of guys in front of him that did great jobs of clearing the lanes so he could see. One didn't see many shots from the slot but when they did come they went in the net. The guy is very weak on his stick side high and while everybody talked about Crawford's glove being weak all one had to do was put it above his right shoulder and in the net it went. Nobody saw that in any game but the guy plays too low and is very weak up high on his stick side. I am not so elated that the Blackhawks won and am more happy that boston lost.

IMO, the defensive pairing of Stapleton/White was one of the best ever.....and I bled Ranger blue in those days.

“Moose Vasko’

It’s hard to believe that a 210# guy was the biggest man in the NHL for a time!

Boston was a very worthy opponent and I really thought we were headed to a game 7 before the 2 minute mark. All I have to say is that Bostonians are world class sports fans unlike some of the un-classy fan base that the Hawks faced in Philly a couple of years back.

Better team won. Best team during the season won. A good thing for the NHL in a lockout season.

"“So, Lindy, what do you think now of that goal in the summer of 1999?”"

Wasn't a goal then, shouldn't be a goal now. Oh, well.

Of course, I'm just bitter because Norm Green carpetbagged MY North Stars to Dallas and the NHL has never been the same since for me.

Now we have Team Christmas, otherwise known as the Minnesota Skating W's, and it's not the same.

I’ll raise your Bergeron and let you know that Hossa was out there with a slipped disc and a numb leg. Toews had a concussion and Bickle had a grade 2 knee injury!

Our boys were amazing! I say to NBC, take that you arrogant jerks :)

Not sure if you play the sport or not, but the shortened season made it that much sweeter! They were playing games back to back in essence which made for a much more DIFFICULT season!

Congrats to my Chicago Blackhawks!!

The season started late but it was one great ride, right through one of most exciting Playoffs I can remember (full thread from Day 1 here). Despite disappointment on the home front during the regular season, it was good to see Lindy Ruff back behind the bench again, and that homeboy Pat Kane shone on the big stage.

Congrats to the Blackhawks on a great year & well-deserved title...

Denis Dejordy, Gerry Desjardins, Date Tallon, Gilles Marotte, Phil Russell, J.P. Bordeleau, Doug Wilson, Gerry (King Kong) Korab, Dick Redmond, John Marks, Grant Mulvey, Darcy Rota and don’t forget Bobby Orr. He ended his career with the Blackhawks. I actually saw him score his last goal in the NHL. Nobody knew at the time, but he retired a few days later.
