Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), the last Republican to speak on the floor before today's shameful vote to advance the 'Gang of 8' amnesty bill, gave a brief but powerful presentation showing up the open-borders Senators as supporting bill that is just like ObamaCare, and does nothing to secure the border.
Cruz comparing the rushed, unread amnesty bill being rushed through only 72 hours after being introduced, without a single hearing on it to the health care bill - a clear blast at the 15 turncoat Republicans who have all endlessly denounced the way the Nancy Pelosi insisted her colleagues has to "pass (ObamaCare) so you can find out what's in it".
The junior senator from Texas, who stands his ground like a veteran of many years, Cruz also skewers Senators who supported today's "fig leaf" amendment as those who don't want to "actually secure the border", but merely to "convince gullible constituents that they've done something" - when of course the Corker amendment guarantees absolutely nothing for border security.
Schumer tries to derail Cruz at the start, but fails. This is no "freshman", this is a leader...

My point is it takes more than griping - support someone, pick up the phone and make yourself heard by your congress people - Cruz has been on the air begging people to do this because it has a BIG effect. I think he deserves support.

Senator Ted Cruz on Hannity tonight said that this immigration bill follows the mistake of 1986 where there was amnesty that promised border security which never happened. This bill “has a thousand waivers written into it and hands it all over to Janet Napalitano and says, ‘use your discretion to decide what to waive.’ “This bill weakens—and I am talking about the admendment we voted on today—current law regarding a border fence, weakens current law regarding biometric security. What it says is you got to show a photo ID. Well Sean, if anyone has known a teenager, it aint hard to go to a flea market and get a fake ID. I suspect more than a few of us have some personal knowledge about how easy that is to do. Current law requires biometric. This law takes that out.”
My point is- that I can gripe anywhere, anytime and where ever I choose. Perhaps, your choice is different than mine, which is great. Some folks, who have met the evil, do not need higher moral lecturing. Okay? Thank you for keeping that higher ground, ever present. Call away.

Don’t hold your breath expecting Obama & Holder to enforce EXISTING laws. If anything, they are doing their best to encourage more illegal immigration.
You are so correct. My daughter is going to Spain for a 8 month teaching assignment, and Spain even wants a criminal background check with finger prints to award the long term visa for temporary stay! Even Mexico is very harsh on illegal immigrants when caught. US policy on illegals is indeed suicide.
You are right. I am dissuaded by a stand of righteousness, that has absolutely no chance of succeding. It’s Kabuki, all over again. Just enough hope to pacify. It is classic elitist tactic. Then again, maybe I am wrong.
