Police say an armed man trying to rob customers outside an Atlanta shoe store was fatally shot by one of the patrons waiting in line to buy sneakers.
WSB-TV reports the shooting happened Saturday morning in the city's Little Five Points neighborhood, where people lined up outside Wish Clothing to buy new $180 sneakers endorsed by Miami Heat star LeBron James.

180 bucks!?!, I’d say he was robbed already
“outside an Atlanta shoe store”
Do I have to say it?
One account says he shot the would be robber dead then got right back into line to get his LeBron basketball shoes.
“one of the customers drew his own handgun and shot the robber. Police say the suspect ran just a few yards before he fell dead.”
And THAT ladies and gents is what personal defense is all about. This story should be rubbed in the face of every gun control idiot in the country.
It wouldn’t help; they’d just want to outlaw sneakers.
They would just wail about the lost potential of the robber.
Hanging one scoundrel, it appears, does not deter the next. Well, what of it? The first one is at least disposed of.In this case one less scoundrel is roaming the streets of Atlanta.
I hope the shoe store had the decency to give this dude his pair of shoes for free.
$180 is chump change.

does the store take EBTs?
Good for him. Shouldn't lose his place in line for something caused by someone else.
Moral of the story:
If you’re buying $180 sneakers endorsed by the star of the Miami Heat, it’s a good idea to be packing heat.
If theranytime thing I learned from being raised on American media and educated in American schools is that institutional racism somehow, in some way, is the reason why this fine scholar shot this other fine scholar.
Had he been wearing $180 sneakers, he probably could have run another yard or two.
“$180 sneakers endorsed by Miami Heat star LeBron James”
Too bad he doesn’t endorse working hard, staying in school, getting good grades, marriage before pregnancy etc..... that might actually help someone.
“One account says he shot the would be robber dead then got right back into line to get his LeBron basketball shoes.”
I am sure the others in line let him back in place. :)
The Amish shoe store, where this sort of thing almost never happens.

Anyone who wears a pair of these is asking to be mugged.
His endorsing the sneakers helps any number of people. First, it helps him. It helps the company that makes the sneakers and their stockholders. It helps the stores that sell them, and in this case it helped ammunition sales.
