Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Sunday that the Senates bipartisan immigration bill does not do enough to address border security, and he does not plan to support it in its current form.
Without some congressional authority and without border security first, I cant support the final bill, Paul said on CNNs State of The Union.

Rabidly partisan Democrats are warning the Republicans that, unless they pass the unread amnesty bill, they will be in terrible trouble with Hispanic voters. And if they're not careful, they'll even lose the black vote!Schumer, Pelosi, Harry Reid and the entire editorial board of the New York Times have spent many sleepless nights worrying about the health of the Republican Party, the poor dears. These guys will do anything to save Republicans.
Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos can't eat nor sleep worried sick about the viability of Republicans as a party if they don't vote for amnesty. (I didn't realize Moulitsas remains such a loyal Republican.)
Unless "they can make inroads into non-white groups" by endorsing alien amnesty, "Republicans are electorally finished at the national level," mourned Moulitsas recently. He was just coming off of a painful menstrual period.
(Showing how classy they can get, posters at Daily Kos broke out into a celebration when Tony Snow died from cancer.)
Speaking of painful menstrual periods, Eleanor Clift of the Daily Beast is another one who's worried sick about Republicans losing votes. Writing about Thursday's Tea Party rally outside the Capitol, Clift denounced Republicans for "having taken a sharp turn to the right, confounding moderate voices..." (And if we've lost Eleanor Clift, we've lost Middle America!)
She singled out GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa for using the term "illegal aliens" in reference to "illegal aliens" -- potentially jeopardizing Republicans' huge minority vote.
Obama-loving E.J. Dionne of the Washington Post is another libbie desperately worried about preserving the GOP as a healthy, viable party. He hopes "a majority of [the] Republican caucus quietly decides that passing immigration reform is better for the party than blocking it."
Those millions of low-income, foreign-born, big-government-loving "undocumented workers" living in the shadows are such a huge pool of potential voters for Republicans. They can't wait to flock to the GOP -- just ask Dionne.
Even Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez tosses and turns every night, unable to sleep, even with his multitude of Dominican prostitutes, worried about the future of the Republican Party he loves so dearly. He warned that unless the GOP caves to Chuck Schumer and passes the amnesty bill before reading it, "there will never be a road to the White House for the Republican Party." No President Rand Paul if Republicans lose all two of their Hispanic voters!
All these noble, kindhearted Democrats, altruistically worried about Republicans, have prompted me to reach across the aisle to reciprocate. Polls show Obama's approval rating in the crapper. Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the Democratic Party are running neck-and-neck with Gonorrhea. So sad! I want to offer them helpful advice to turn that around.
Democrats, here's your to-do list:
-- People are in a funk about the anemic economy, high unemployment, falling wages, soaring debt and deficit spending, so now is the perfect time for your leader Obama to go on an African vacation. Make sure it costs taxpayers 60-100 million bucks. Use lots of military planes to airlift over a dozen limos and 50 or more other vehicles. I care so much for Democrats, I strongly recommend this trip.
-- Double down on defending the NSA's spying on all Americans. Defending Orwellian programs will shore up Obama's youth vote. I'm so concerned for Democrats, I urge them to keep going down this road.
-- Start more wars and pointless conflicts in the Middle East like Obama just did in Syria. Another youth vote-getter! Make sure to break the bank. I worry so much about the Democrats' future, I urge Obama to continue this mindset.
-- Since global warming stopped 15 years ago, load Obama's Teleprompter with another speech on global warming, pledging to impose more costly regulations on new and existing power plants, now that the cost of energy is so low! Nothing unites our nation more than tougher regulations. West Virginians will be thrilled! I care so dearly for Democrats, I urge Obama to tackle this non-existent threat.
-- Since the gun homicide rate is down nearly 50% since 1993, now is the time to give gun control another go! Rile up America's 50,000,000+ gun-owning households by dredging up the Manchin-Toomey debacle again. And appoint Joe Biden to lead the charge! I care so much for Democrats, I urge immediate action on this.
-- Have Obama jet off to Berlin to give a speech, wisely inviting comparisons to his 2008 speech ... oh, wait. Already done.
Since Democrats love "undocumented immigrants" so much, I urge them to give it a whirl themselves. Obama, Pelosi, Schumer and Harry Reid should leave the country and become "undocumented immigrants" in France! (Although that would be a homecoming.)
The Democrats' permanently leaving America would do wonders for the economy and their poll ratings.
Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

Monday-morning ping! Have a great day, y’all!
I love your editorial take.
One change I would make though.... Let them become illegal immigrants in North Korea, rather than France.
We need the new Mexicans and the old Democrats at each other’s throats over jobs, housing, welfare benefits, healthcare resources, and education benefits, etc. It will happen naturally but a little push here and there won’t hurt.
Democrats see one prize in amnesty and that is 10 to 30 million new votes. What they fail to grasp is that 30 million people added to the current Hispanic population will distort American politics in ways that can't be foreseen. Hispanics will be so empowered, particularly in the Southwest, they'll have no need for the Democrat party. They can form their own party and it'll be called La Raza.
If this amnesty were to be passed, the latent racist arrogance of the Race would be completely unchained. It would get ugly. Very, very ugly.
Even most of the Republicans miss or refuse to address the biggest problem with this act, the permanent institutionalizion os the Socialist Democrat Party as the rulers of the USA. Nothing illustrates my contention that the Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party than the Immigration Bill.
Thanks for the ping. Great essay as always
Bears repeating! For all you lurking idiot democrats who think amnesty will give the democrat party permanent dominance:
The republicans will be swamped. Ha, Ha. You win. But pay attention
You will embrace your new comrades from the south but they will not embrace you. The new conquistadors will hold you in more contempt then they do the republicans. And for all you black democrats, particularly ones in the inner cities, you better learn Spanish.
And the divisions that you have fostered between south-of-the-border people (SOBT) and Americans will now be firmly rooted within the democrat party. You will not control them. They will seek to control you. Afterall they were raised as socialists, so you owe them, comprendes?
Now for the real kicker, Amnesty II, III, IV, etc. Now it is the democrats turn to be swamped. Thank you very much. In the mean time, you will see political corruption taken to atmospheric heights.
Now, press "1" for English.
Rabidly partisan Democrats are warning the Republicans that, unless they pass the unread amnesty bill, they will be in terrible trouble with Hispanic voters. And if they’re not careful, they’ll even lose the black vote!
Wonder if anyone told the Hispanics and blacks they are owned by the democrats?.
Indeed. Thank you for the excellent essay, dear JohnHuang2!
Good job, as always.
Awesome.
Just............awesome!
Thank you SO much! Your posts remind me that there are still sane people, and keep my spirits up.
“Press 1 for English” is something I’ve had to do quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. ;-(
