Police have arrested a 62-year-old man who allegedly killed six people in a gun rampage across Shanghai late Saturday, state media reported.
The shooting spree left four workers at a chemical factory, a taxi driver and a sentry at a military barracks dead before the perpetrator was arrested, Xinhua news agency reported Sunday.
The killings were triggered by an economic dispute with one of the mans colleagues at the chemical factory at about 5 pm (0900 GMT) on Saturday, the Shanghai-based Xinmin Evening News website reported.
The suspect, identified only by his last name Fan, allegedly beat his colleague to death before returning to his dormitory to pick up an illegal hunting rifle, Shanghai police reported on its microblog account.
He hailed a taxi to another district, then allegedly gunned down the driver and drove the vehicle himself, Xinhua said.
He then allegedly killed a guard at a barracks gate, snatching the soldiers gun.
Returning to the plant, the suspect allegedly shot three more people dead including the factory boss, Xinmin Evening News reported.

Too easy.
Chinese invented gunpowder
but they are forbidden in the city
to have it.
How soon until the libtards blame the Second Amendment—not realizing that the Chicoms have no such thing?
Why do they always call it a shooting spree, like it’s something fun and enjoyable? I thought China was one of those countries that strictly controlled firearms to their citizens.
” illegal hunting rifle,”
Ah ha an evil illegal hunting rifle. It wasn’t black with military type features , so no one noticed it. Those need to be banned
In China I bet they hunt with AK 47’s, also known as Type 56.
Evidently, the victims refused to be shanghaied.

One man who may have benefited more from authorized Wu Shu than Medieval influences. ;-)
If you have an illegal hunting rifle, can you only use it to hunt illegal game?
So, he used an illegal hunting rifle to obtain something a bit more snazzy from the guard.
Kind of makes the case for 3D printed pistols, in a way.
