The 'Christian' movement that tells husbands to SPANK their wives 'to correct misbehavior'
Daily Mail ^ | June 22, 2013 | Ashley Collman

A growing number of married American couples are agreeing to allow husbands to keep their wives 'in line' by taking to corporal punishment.

The trend is called Christian Domestic Discipline and much of what is known about the practice is published on the website Learning Domestic Discipline, published by husband and wife CDD duo, Clint and Chelsea.

The website states: 'It is an arrangement between two adults who share the belief that the husband is the head of the household and with that position comes the right to enforce his authority.' Clint and Chelsea have also written a 50-page packet on the practice called Beginning Domestic Discipline.

Manifesto: Learningdd.com is a source of a lot of information on the new painful Christian trend

In the packet they describe CDD as a ‘practice between two consenting life partners in which the head of household (HoH) takes the necessary measures to achieve a healthy relationship dynamic.’

That translates to all methods of punishment, not exclusive to spanking. Clint and Chelsea advocate lecturing, removing privileges, corner and bedroom time – essentially the ways most people discipline their children.

I’ve been with my beautiful bride for over 40 wonderful years and she has NEVER spanked me. I’ll ask her again tonight. ;>)

Subtext is “see, your fundamentalists are the same in both Christianity and Islam”.

I tell my wife from time to time that I have a Christian duty to spank her, and she has yet to submit.

As with Congress, the only way to correct an erring spouse is to withhold the funding.

This sounds more like kinky Christian bedroom play than actual systems people are running their household by.
Take the most conservative Christian group in the United States, the Amish. Do you think they ‘spank’ their wives? No.

Spanking is for children, not for adults (at least in the sphere of actual discipline). Besides, what husband has to ‘discipline’ his wife, or vice-versa? This is not the dynamic that exists between two loving adults.

I don’t think they’re trying to make Christians sound like the Taliban. They do a hell of a lot worse than spanking to their wives. It’s just an attempt to make a mockery of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Leftist trash.

Annoying that they don’t report on real things, like honor killings, clitorectomies, forced abortions in China. Then again, those don’t involve evil whackjob Christians, so we have to keep those under wraps.

S&M disguised as religion.

One could argue that a Catholic priest's vow of chastity is somewhat masochistic.

I thought it was to encourage misbehavior. Otherwise, what's the point?

There’s always some Christians who believe everything should be done the way it was in Jesus’ time. Now, is it really a trend? Somehow, I’m not convinced.

Absolutely correct.

There is also nothing to indicate this is a ‘growing trend’ in any sense of the word. Looks like they found a handful of crazies to try to paint this as the way a typical Christian family behaves.

Sounds like an attempt to spray a whiff of Christianity onto some kinky subculture. Bogus.

I suppose there is a sexual dimension to dominance in the male/female relationship.
