WOW, what huge news this is! Senator Elbert L. Guillory, who represents Louisiana Senate District 24, made an announcement today that will certainly rock the State of Louisiana for weeks to come. In the face of what happened a couple of days ago with Karen Carter Peterson speaking about how those who oppose Obamacare are racist, todays breaking news was a breath of fresh air from a common sensed individual.
Guillory showed up to the @Large Conference this weekend and gave a speech.
With each passing day, I have become disappointed in the Democratic Party. What would be the impact on schools due to immigration? One of the biggest disappointments has been breakdown of American families. Their policies have encouraged the high teen birthrate, high school drop out rates, high unemployment. Children are encouraged to get the crazy check instead of honkering down to get an education. Minority unemployment is in the stratosphere.
Guillory coined the word Scaredy Pants Crisis Management. I want better for my country and Louisiana. We must help America find her path home. The people in this room today seek an alternative solution to these problems of America. We have received some pretty good deals under the Republican Party. Republicans helped LBJ pass the Civil Rights Act over the OBJECTIONS of most Democrats. President Nixon left Vietnam and brought the money home and invested in America; Obama hasnt done anything like that.
I pledged my dues, and I look forward to creating new partnerships in the State of Louisiana. I am of this day joining Frederick Douglass as a Republican.
Guillory won a special election to the Louisiana State House of Representatives in 2004. He served in the House until 2009, when he was elected to the Senate in another special election. He has served the Louisiana State Senate since then, representing the 24th district.
Guillory earned his BS from Virginia State University. He went on to receive his JD from Rutgers University.
and i am making the point that with a few exceptions, republicans were right their with them doing the destroying.
Do you consider ratification of the 16th, a violation of States rights?
i would quickly answer: because the work and end goals of progressivism are exactly opposed by the Constitution and founding of this country, there have always been a small remnant of the political class in this country through the 20th century who were true constitutionalists, and we had some true conservatives (republican in name only in a good way) as presidents (i can think of three) interspersed with all the leftists.
Yes
The 16 th must be repealed or challenged. This is the source of ALL our problems. without the income tax the huge government cannot exist, no IRS, no HUD, no EPA, no FDA, no FCC, no gov grants, no welfare etc. the huge government needs funding that the income tax provides.
we should all focus on this , after stopping the Amnesty bill . use the IRS scandal to repeal it.
you said they were the same then why didn’t r’s pass all that if they were the same as d’s and wanted to destroy America like dems do?
a wise man steeped in the politics of both parties (had worked intimately with both), told me once that everyday that congress was in session, a little more of your liberty is being stolen away. i think he said it was a democrat.
with that i’ll say goodnight and God bless.
Exactly my parents are very conservative democrats but when Bubba Clinton came into the picture my parents saw that the democrat party was not their party any longer and has joined the Republican Party and supported George Bush (Both Bushes). The Kennedy Democrats are not the same Democrats of today. Today’s Democrats are....fill in your own words. =)
I guess he’s ceased being ‘black’ now to liberal dumocrats.
Which of the four words did he coin?
All you morons kicking a gift horse in the mouth do a little work and read his speech; also read up on Fred Doug Republicans...it’s a good movement lead by a good group. Stop whining and read.
You are onto something that is even bigger, IMO. The Republican party has a plan for where they stand, but no plan to advance. Like an army on a battlefield that just reacts to attacks and does not go on the offensive, the Republicans are always on defense. To make a goal of repealing the 16th entails a plan to get super majorities and all the benefits thereof. But the Repub leadership just sucks its thumb.
On the other hand, the Democrats have plans, have goals and advance their agenda every chance they get. Evil bahstids!
And whom do you think will get what they want at this rate?
