After Phone Call with Rubio, O'Reilly Offers Full-Scale Support of Immigration Bill

Thursday night on Fox News’s "The O’Reilly Factor," host Bill O’Reilly came out in full-scale support for the immigration reform bill currently making its way through the Senate.

Despite its border security shortcomings, O’Reilly said, “it looks like the secure border is in reach – at least somewhat.” He continued, “Talking Points supports immigration reform, even though I well understand the new law will be somewhat chaotic…will be a magnet for more people to come here illegally, which is why we need stepped up security around the border.” He concluded, “I hope this bill does become law.”

Multiple Republican senators have stridently fought the notion that the immigration reform bill currently under consideration is sufficient to guarantee any true border security. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said, “We must stop this Gang of 8 immigration bill, which would give amnesty to an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants with no guarantee of a secure border.” Sen. John Cornyn (R-AZ) stated that his amendment, which was rejected, would have guaranteed border security, while the current version does not: “The difference between my amendment and their bill is that their bill promises the sun and the moon when it comes to border security but it has no trigger mechanism.” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) explained, “I don’t think it will stop the reform waiting on border security. It allows the reforms to go ahead and tries to get border security, but I think they should be dependent upon each other. So, unless that happens, I’m not sure I can support it.”

O’Reially has always been a libertarian leaning... and many times liberal, depending upon which way he thinks his ratings will go.

It's an insult to libertarians everywhere to call BOR a libertarian. He has no ideology -- no philosophy. Every issue is decided ad hoc depending on how he feels on a particular day.

He's a horse's arse.

Good thing Laura is on in his place tonight... she won’t back down on what is right.

I listen to Laura on the radio, but I won’t tune in to BOR’s show.

Rush, Levin and Hannity should be calling out Rubio. As should Glenn Beck.

Beck has, the other three, not so much. I listen to all of them, and I haven't heard anything other than the bill is bad and they hope Rubio will withdraw from it.

I don’t know....we don’t know what the house is going to do... and does Rubio know something he’s sharing with a few choice individuals in the media, and why they have decided to support it...thus far? He’s making personal calls to pointed people that matter...I just don’t know.

- Tonight Bill O’Reilly said no American business should not pay a $10.00/hour minimum wage in our “Capitalist” society.

O’Reilly is no conservative and knows beans about running a small business. When he worked for Carvell many moons ago he would never have been hired at a Fed mandated minimum wage.

O’Reilly was Carvell employee, a public school teacher, and an attorney; likely an attorney you cannot trust.

He now rarely checks any facts (as Rush always does), he cuts guests off as they attempt to make a point, and thinks he is the Philosopher-King of all things.

In fact he is only an ignorant egotistical windbag that will say or do anything to pump up his ratings and sell another Best Seller book while he caters to both sides on all issues

At least Ted Baxter was entertaining - Bill O’Reilly would sleep with Obama to get higher ratings.

For all the many millions he makes he continues to mention the free custom tailored clothing he wears on TV. There he goes again - adjusting his cuffs………

Does Ted Baxter think that there should be a minimum profit for businesses?

Without profit there are no jobs, minimum-wage or otherwise.

Every issue is decided ad hoc depending on how he feels on a particular day.

Actually he's all over the map because that way he agrees with everybody once in a while and they think he's a genius and keep watching and waiting for the next time he says something they agree with.

In other words, he's a ratings whore. Nothing more, nothing less.

He doesn't know anything about anything other than showmanship, and I'll admit he's pretty damn good at that.

I'd be happy to grant him the $10.10 minimum wage so long as he agreed that any television celebrity/talking head/clueless jackass could NEVER make any more than $10,100 per month, including royalties, residuals, movie rights, etc., etc., etc.

Blabbermouth Bill would be screaming free enterprise then, I reckon.
