When John F. Kennedy delivered his Ich Bin Ein Berliner speech in front of the Schöneberg Rathaus on June 26, 1963, 450,000 people flocked to hear him. Fifty years later a far more subdued invitation-only crowd of 4,500 showed up to hear Barack Obama speak at the same location in Berlin. As The National Journal noted, he didnt come away with much, winning just a smattering of applause from a crowd that was one-hundredth the size of JFKs, and far smaller than the 200,000 boisterous Germans who had listened to his 2008 address as a presidential candidate. JFK had a clear message when he came to Berlin a half century ago the free world must stand up to Communist tyranny. 24 years later, President Reagan stood in the same spot famously calling on the Soviets to tear down this wall.

“Oh, how the mighty are fallen.”
All I can say is WOW. Finally someone in the British press exposes Obama for the empty suit he is.
When there is beer and a free rock concert, crowds will tend to be much larger and boisterous.
....Completely missing from Obamas address was a call for the West to stand up to the rising threat of [i]slamist militancy, the defence of Christians facing huge levels of persecution and intimidation in the Middle East...
Of course this was missing! obama supports islamic supremacism and muslim persecution of Christians!!!!
Given my intense dislike for nobama and those around him, I really hate to write this, but:
The crowd size remarks are very unfair as this latest speech was invitation only.
One bright spot is that the crowd was estimated at 4500. Interesting, since AIR, 6000 tickets were available.
Ich ben ein bratwurst...
There hasn’t been a bomb like that in Berlin, since May 1945.
Nile Gardiner ping!
Obama should be forced to resign from office or impeached....he is just plain useless and anti-American!!!
Kennedy (well, relatively so, anyway) and Reagan (most definitely) stood in the shadow of the Berlin Wall and called for freedom. Obama stands on the east side of the Brandenburg Gate and mumbles some sh*t about global warming.
The might have indeed fallen.
He was there to get tips from ex-Stasi agents.
Goes to show that even the Germans view Obama as so “yesterday”.
The Europeans (read Germans) saw a fool standing before them naked while trying to give himself significance. They know we have a cartoon running the regime. Possibly, they were at first amused by the fool, then the reality of the danger such a fool represents as he is also cic of the most powerful military machine on earth, albeit the fool is trying to transform/change that, too.
He should have brought back his Greek columns. That would’a done it.
That, and the free beer and rock bands.
It seems that FReepers as well as the media have short memories. We ALL poo-pooed the crowd size in '08 because of the concert. To use the drop in attendance to illustrate Zer0's waning popularity is intellectually dishonest.
Forced to speak from behind a barrier, intense heat makes him sweat, bright sun makes teleprompter unreadable, forced to read vapid words penned by others...poor Barry just can’t catch a break.
We heard a replay of some of his “I’m gonna stop the oceans from rising” diatribe yesterday. OMG! We were stunned to say the least. I guess the Germans don’t have access to fact check. Or the fact that they were invitees makes me believe they wouldn’t check anyway and just swallowed it all hook, line and sinker. This almost trumps algorezeeras normal screed about the threat to mankind. Holy boatload of manure. Surprised every day even though we thought we’d heard everything. Guess not.
Yes, the voices of reason seem to be getting louder - finally. I've noticed that the Obamabots appear a lot less on public forums to toot their horns than even a year ago. Who cannot see that it's shameful to defend this Corrupter-in-Chief?
