We’re going to need a new Underground Railroad for our sick and elderly to escape this regime’s plans for them.

My dad had a DNR. A huge chunk of his heart was dead and he was in tremendous pain. He had made his peace and wanted to go. The hospital staff made a full-court press with each new family member to get the DNR overridden. This, despite the fact dad had given my sister a lawyer written power of attorney and she had informed the staff that nobody else had one. Fortunately, every family member was on board with Dad’s wishes. Dad had been abundantly clear. The doctor decided to punish/pressure us by saying that the DNR meant he could withhold fluids. We had pour water down Dad’s throat.

That doctor was one of the worst pieces of work I have ever come across. Imperious and condescending, to say the least. The patient’s wishes meant nothing. I still can’t figure out what his motivation was. Dad was 95 and had been in declining health for 10 years. It’s not like any procedure could have done anything but brought him more pain.

Why allow life-sustaining treatment when there’s money to be made in N organ industry? People are willing to pay big bucks for hearts, livers, spleens, etc./s

I’m surprised they’re not harvesting parts while these people are still alive...

Even before this change family members were allowed to with hold food and water from patients. You have to be a true SOB to watch a sick person die of thirst.
