WASHINGTON (AP) — Supporters of far-reaching immigration legislation rejected a challenge Wednesday from Senate conservatives demanding evidence that the nation's borders are secure before millions living in the United States unlawfully can gain legal status.
The vote came as lawmakers on both sides of the issue digested a startling Congressional Budget Office forecast that the bill would fail to prevent a steady increase in illegal residents in the future, even though it would grant legal status to millions already in the country without the necessary papers.
"Illegality will not be stopped, but it will only be reduced by 25 percent," said Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., referring to the prediction by the non-partisan CBO.
Only a day earlier, the CBO had cheered supporters of the bill with an estimate that it would help the economy and reduce deficits in each of the next two decades.

What BS! This bill, if passed, will only encourage more illegal immigration, especially when said form of immigration will no longer be considered illegal.
They have no intention of securing the border and stopping the flow of illegals. Not now. Not in 5 years. Not in 10 years.
If they wanted to secure the border and stop the flow of illegals, they could do that now by enforcing existing laws.
It is another hoodwinking of the American people — by Rubio, by Ryan, by McCain, by Graham, by Schumer and all those voting for this bill.
It will turn your stomach. It looks like a bunch of anti-American gimme gimme parasites.
If we had a true Republic, they would be put in chains, thrown on un-airconditioned buses and thrown over the boarder.
If this evil bill passes every politician that voted for it should be rounded up and ... you know the rest...

This is a problem of the right and the left.
There is a segment of land-owning farmers, who are looking for more low-wage illegals.
Those land-owning farmers are in bed with the illegal supporters, in keeping illegals flooding into our nation.
That is the problem. Both sides are on this ride.
Let’s do the math.
Last time we saw this fandango they promised it was only for a million illegals. Three million took advantage of their largesse.
So, this time they promise it’s only for “eleven million.” Which means almost certainly that thirty-three million will sign up. Most honest observers know that there at least that many here now.
Which will attract ten times as many in preparation for the next sell out of our national sovereignty and the rule of law.
So, the next wave will be more than the current population of the United States.

I cannot truly write what I want to happen to D.C., but know this, we are betraying our Founders wishes if something does dramatic does not happen soon.
If they stop illegals and secure the border the goal of a North American Union will not be achieved. Bush knew this and that’s why he did absolutely nothing. Obama knows it and that’s why he’s done nothing.
You can't make the border air-tight. But you CAN greatly reduce the attractiveness of coming into the US, via penalties against those who hire illegals.
Make the penalty something moderate, like $200 per illegal found. Make it NOT a defense to claim the illegal showed good-looking fake ID. Make local cops able to enforce it AND collect the fine. Real quick, businesses who hire illegals will find themselves raided over and over again, with INS competing against local cops and state troopers, until there are no more illegals.

And Obamacare was supposed to reduce everyone’s insurance bills, too.
And all the other amnesties we’ve done since 1986 were supposed to be the “last time” we were going to do an amnesty.

Obama, third world scum, has taken over. Every major us city is liberal run and is third world and somewhere along the process of self destruction. They have taken over there. They exist to grab resources from those they don’t govern - state redistribution of income and federal redistribution of income.
Obviously you don’t live in Taxifornia where the liberals refuse to follow, let alone enforce the law. So lets build a big fence, use seismic and aural sensors to detect tunnels and armed U.S. MILITARY to secure our nation from foreign invaders. I betcha that will get the border pretty damn tight! A hell of lot tighter than a whopping 25%! And as for cost, what jobs are all our soldiers coming home to?
We need environmental review of the immigration reform bill. An EIR estimating the number of people changing from Third World levels of consumption to US levels. The number of people legalized, and the number of family members they will eventually bring in. What increase in greenhouse gases will result?
