TWA Flight 800 crash not due to gas tank explosion, say former investigators

The reconstruction of TWA Flight 800's fuselage. (Daniel Brooks/Epix) The producers of an upcoming documentary on TWA Flight 800—which exploded and crashed into the waters off Long Island, N.Y., on July 17, 1996, killing all 230 people on board—claim to have proof that an explosion outside the Paris-bound flight caused the crash. And six former investigators who took part in the film say there was a cover-up and want the case reopened.

More interesting is that this is being reported on Yahoo.

Everybody knew at the time that it was a terrorist attack and Clinton simply wanted to cover it up. He used the power of the US government to shut up the witnesses and investigators.

An empty fuel tank will certainly explode if it’s been hit by a missile.

I wish we had another O’Connor in NY, but I’m afraid we don’t.

The scope and scale of a cover-up of this nature would be unworkable.

One would expect that those involved in the investigation would come forward if we were being lied to.

Not listed on NOTAMS.

Any live shoots MUST be listed on NOTAMS and include airspace, altitudes, times and the airspace would be closed to civil traffic. Radar tapes normally don’t show live fire missile shots, raw returns are small and de-cluttered as the airspace is crowded and controller are controlling aircraft they can see via IFF returns.

But then again, I suppose literally several hundreds, thousands, of servicemen would remain quiet and actively cover-up such an event and the telemetric data transmitted from such a shot would be destroyed/cover-up.

So, we have one set of conspiracy people saying it was terrorists and another group saying it was the USG.

However, the lack of proof is proof of how good the cover-up/conspiracy is.

Yup.

They would, can’t keep something like fratricide on that scale go without someone talking.

I remember it too. Everybody on Long Island saw that missile going up.

I know what they meant, but there isn't a gas tank on a 747. It burns jet fuel, and that's a whole different juice, and less likely to explode...

(I know, it was shot down.)

Since I didn’t see it posted in comments, check this

http://www.twa800.com/eyewitness/wire/mikewire-eyewitness.htm

It’s LONG been a part of my archives, frequently forwarded to friends who still think it was “just an accident”.

Hard to quantify after reading all this AND seeing the data in Google Earth...

I suppose literally several hundreds, thousands, of servicemen would remain quiet and actively cover-up such an event

That is the strongest argument against our military being involved. Logically though, it assumes that there is no instance or ability of a launch taking place without hundreds being aware that the launch was the cause and at least one would come forward. There are three major problems with that argument.

1 The first is proof that the number knowing a launch happened would number in the hundreds or thousands. I don't know how to prove the lowest number of possible people. (How many people are aware of a firing from a drone for example?)

2 Having direct provable knowledge that a launch was actually connected to TWA800. Even if it may be provable that every missile fired is witnessed by hundreds or thousands or people do how many of those witnesses have direct knowledge of its disposition?

3 Finally the effect of gag orders. The argument you state assumes that if hundreds were witnesses that the gag order would not be effective. This assumes that a certain percentage of observers would be willing to commit treason and take the chance that others would join them in treason.

Do you realize the irony in your statement on a thread concerning people coming forward that were involved in investigation.

Witnesses can see (from over 5-miles away) a 4’ long missile painted flat green, no reflective surfaces, plume burnt out seconds after launch. I want their eyes.

These aren't ballistic missiles. Whether or not they use boosters to launch, anti-aircraft missiles continue to burn fuel in their primary rocket motors throughout the flight envelope. People see fire just fine in the dark.

Clinton’s fault.

Comrade Klinton indeed was anxious to sweep the entire incident under the rug. I think the passenger list should be thoroughly reviewed, because at the time there were allegations that someone was on board that the klintons had to "silence".

Of course it may also have been that terrorists, were using US supplied Stingers on American soil, which also might have been enough to get the rapist removed.

Obama getting back at the CIA?

Could be, but that's not healthy, ask JFK.

More likely, it is being reopened to keep the klintons in line. Maybe Hildabeast is about to spill her ample guts on Benmghazi and Hussein wants a trump card?

People are forgetting some stuff from this case:

1. Jihadists in the Pre-TWA800 ME prominently emblazoned posters in public that featured a 747 crashing into the waters off NYC with the twin towers in the background.

2. investigators who met with missile witnesses repeatedly stated to them their belief that they were nuts. in some cases FBi interviewers recorded witness accounts totally counter to the claims those witnesses later claimed to have made. Numerous witnesses averred it seemed the FBi had “already made up their minds about the crash causes”.

3. WND reported that a tug boat captain contracted to drag the seafloor found a MANPADS rapid-burn ejector can (this acts to propel the missile a safe distance away from the operator before the main engine burn initiates).

4. A helicopter pilot with thousands of hours of flight time, military training and combat experience did report seeing the sinuous flight of an AA missile, with it’s characteristic course corrections.

*if* Obama has anything to do with this release of info - it is to minimize the the lying/coverup death involved in Benghazi.
