Politicians talk about transparency while covering up anything that might be seen as embarrassing on their watch. Clinton was too busy with his intern.
BTW another item of note is that the USA spent $33 Million investigating the downing of TWA Flight 800 while only a pittance on 9-11. How much did the 9-11 attacks ultimately end up costing the American taxpayers? I read $14M. We needed to spend much more getting to the bottom of 9-11 and determining the exact causes and ultimate responsibilities......before they start spying on citizens and taking our rights. Immigration and lack of visa control remains a huge factor. The pro-immigrationists didn’t want that aspect highlighted.

We were talking partially empty tanks, those with "air spaces" above the level of the liquid fuel.
"MSDS for Kerosine"
" Hydrocarbon liquids including this product can act as a non-conductive flammable liquid (or static accumulators), and may form ignitable vapor-air mixtures in storage tanks or other containers. Precautions to prevent static-initated fire or explosion during transfer, storage or handling, include but are not limited to these examples:
(1) Ground and bond containers during product transfers. Grounding and bonding may not be adequate protection to prevent ignition or explosion of hydrocarbon liquids and vapors that are static accumulators. "

OMG some idiot govt mouthpiece just said it would be impossible for anyone to see a missile strike because after the explosion the sound travels only so fast and when they looked up 30 seconds (??) later they would see stuff falling DOWN and not up.
This is the stupidest excuse I have heard to date. Maybe he thinks no one happened to be looking that direction before the blast.
Plus there was A VIDEO of a missile streaking up towards it, THEN a huge explosion
(it was shown on TV once and then quickly removed - I saw it with my own two eyes)

A full tank of kerosine has about the same flashpoint as a full swimming pool full of water. But the center fuel tank was empty.

Many witnesses to the accident had seen a "streak of light" that was usually described as ascending,[58] moving to a point where a large fireball appeared, with several witnesses reporting that the fireball split in two as it descended toward the water.[24]
There was intense public interest in these witness reports and much speculation that the reported streak of light was a missile that had struck TWA 800, causing the airplane to explode.[59] These witness accounts were a major reason for the initiation and duration of the FBI's criminal investigation.[60]
Approximately 80 FBI agents conducted interviews with potential witnesses daily.[61] No verbatim records of the witness interviews were produced; instead, the agents who conducted the interviews wrote summaries that they then submitted.[60]
Witnesses were not asked to review or correct the summaries.[60] Included in some of the witness summaries were drawings or diagrams of what the witness observed.[62][63]
Within days of the crash the NTSB announced its intent to form its own witness group and to interview witnesses to the crash.[64] However, after the FBI raised concerns about non-governmental parties in the NTSB's investigation having access to this information and possible prosecutorial difficulties resulting from multiple interviews of the same witness,[64] the NTSB deferred and initially neither interviewed nor re-interviewed witnesses to the crash.[65]
--------
736 witness accounts, of which 258 were characterized as "streak of light" witnesses ("an object moving in the sky...variously described [as] a point of light, fireworks, a flare, a shooting star, or something similar.")[58]
38 witnesses described a streak of light that ascended vertically, or nearly so, and these accounts "seem[ed] to be inconsistent with the accident airplane's flightpath."[107] In addition, 18 witnesses reported seeing a streak of light that originated at the surface, or the horizon, which did not "appear to be consistent with the airplane's calculated flightpath and other known aspects of the accident sequence."[107]
