Men's Wearhouse executive chairman George Zimmer has been "terminated," the clothing retailer said on Wednesday.
Zimmer opened the company's first store in Houston in 1973. He's been the bearded face of Men's Wearhouse (MW) in television ads for years, famously promising men "You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it."

George Zimmer is a big time Obama supporter, loves the Occupy Wall Street (bowel) movement. Glad to see he was fired.

Don Zimmer would have been a better choice.

Seriously? Didn't they trash one of his stores someplace? LOL!
So how long till J.C. Penney hires him?
To: SoFloFreeper
I guess they didn’t like the way he looked.

Not upset to see him go. Was sick of his shtick. I’m only wondering why. Was he not the founder and one of the largest shareholders?

I’ve bought one new suit in the last 12 years to interview for my present job. I’ve worn it maybe 1-2 times per year since. If the corporate army wants you to wear uniforms, then they should provide them like the U.S. Army did when I was with them

Best suit I’ve ever bought was second-hand from a guy in Canada on Ebay. The thing still looks great!
To: SoFloFreeper
Eh, just replace him with this guy.....
Stay well-dressed, my friends......

He was probably fired because he was selling an “Ebonics Language Lesson” course.
You can find it on YouTube. (but don’t look for it if you are easily offended)

Men's Wearhouse executive chairman George Zimmer has been "terminated," Justice for Trayvon!
To: MNDude
His voice was that of a low-class used auto dealer, promising the junk heap he had to sell you would run like new. “I guarantee it!” BS! No wonder he supports Obama. He’s a lying crook at heart.

“Was he not the founder and one of the largest shareholders?”
Maybe a hostile takeover by other shareholders?

“George Zimmer is a big time Obama supporter”
I have to admit, the only suit i own is from MW. If i had know his leanings I would have gone elsewhere.

I'd be willing to bet that he probably got it tailor-made from a Chinatown shop in Toronto or Vancouver. Best suit I ever owned was tailor-made in Singapore. Alas, I've grown too much middle-aged fat to wear it anymore.
I'll probably give it to my son-in-law when he graduates from college next spring. He is about the same size now as I was then.
