Finally! We have common sense in our public schools, at least in one Virginia school district anyway.
After two boy were suspended for using pencils like guns, the Suffolk School Board decided to review their current weapons policy, which was a very strict zero tolerance policy which left no room for interpretation.
According to 10News.com,
Under the revised policy, school administrators can look at factors such as intentions of harm and whether the object is listed as a weapon to determine the punishment. Ordinary objects will not be considered weapons
A local television station reports that school board members voted unanimously to approve the revised policy last week.
This comes on the heels of numerous students being suspended, expelled and also arrested for cases involving toy guns at schools, talking about guns at schools, or wearing gun related clothing.
What? Common sense?!!!
A fluke I assure you.
Kidding aside, the school board members who act like idiots MUST be treated as such and mocked relentlessly. To the point they quit and move.
Legal BS can keep them in power indefinitely. But not one of them will stay at a job where their life sees no release from the constant torment in public they richly deserve.
THAT is what needs doing across America.
My little nephew won’t stand a chance unless they get ALL the ‘zero tolerance’ crap out of the schools. He plays guns constantly....
I wonder if there’s any public school employees who drive a Dodge MAGNUM? Or an old Chevy BERETTA? Or a Ford TAURUS? How about a really old Dodge COLT, surely there’s a few of them still on the road.
“This comes on the heels of numerous students being suspended, expelled and also arrested for cases involving toy guns at schools....”
It’s not “numerous students” — it’s “numerous boys”. If there were a school policy that affected girls as disproportionately; that policy would have been scrapped almost immediately. The public school system has become so thoroughly feminized, that it’s become a toxic environment for boys.
I totally agree with where you are going. Any and everything. Not happy with Rush lately but I have to defer to his wisdom. Illustrate absurdity by the absurd.
File suits against the school based on fear their car name could mentally traumatize a child and lead to violence.
I am dead serious. If a pic of a gun is grounds to arrest a kid and imprison him, so is a word ‘like’ a gun. Or a chewed pop tart.
Hire the damn lawyer instead of helping fund the football team and sue.
I agree, they should be mocked, and kicked the hell out where ever possible.
Uh... it's been toxic toward boys since probably the Johnson Administration. I know firsthand that it was very toxic in Ms. Creamer's second grade class in 1979... the "Ms." title was the dead giveaway back then for the misandrist dykes. By the end of second grade for me, my mother had come to regret sending her happy little boy to government school... he changed.
>> A fluke I assure you.
Or avoiding the shark infested waters.
I gotta wonder which is worse. This school with this decision is now open to the ACLU and teachers union suing over exposing the teachers to violence. Because Shirley someones Bieber will be stuned by the Chiraq like violence about to descend on them now that the kids have no law WHATSOEVER to restrain their homicidal urges?
I mean, any excuse in a storm right?
Litigation will only embolden the Hell that is waiting to descend these predators.
In the vain of the oceanic theme (fluke, sharks, storm), the perfect storm eddies calmly observing as far as I’m concerned.
Just what I’ve been writing about this subject. Coordinate a big effort with a lot of students and this crap will HAVE to stop. What are they going to do, suspend an entire class or more? If I had a kid in this crap ed system I’d certainly consider starting a movement to do it.
“I wonder if theres any public school employees who drive a Dodge MAGNUM? Or an old Chevy BERETTA? Or a Ford TAURUS? How about a really old Dodge COLT, surely theres a few of them still on the road.”.
If they do, make every damn one of them get rid of their cars or face termination. Fair is fair!
I'm guessing it was more related to the inability to go out in public without being tarred and feathered.
As it should be.
Car names that are related to guns.

If I had the money (and a kid in school), I’d be wandering around the parking lot with a lawyer.
Zero tolerance - right, folks?
This angers me. This means the idiots in charge of our public schools have had the ability to correct this all along.
It has been my impression that the only reason the Public School System enforced the ridiculous "zero tolerance" policies is because of threats from the federal government if they did not comply.
