Irans new president will find a partner in the United States if he comes clean on the Islamic Republics controversial nuclear program, a senior White House official said Sunday, according to the AFP news agency.
Hassan Rowhani, who is considered a moderate, was elected as Irans new president Friday, ending eight years of a conservative grip on the office marked by tension with the West over Tehrans atomic drive.
If he is interested in
mending Irans relations with the rest of the world, there's an opportunity to do that, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough was quoted as having told CBS News Face the Nation.

Rowhani is not anything like a “moderate”, except in tone. He wants to sound less crazy to the West, but is clearly committed to the destruction of Israel, upholding Assad and subjugating the Middle Eastern to Iran, the way Eastern Europe was subjugated by the Soviet Union.
