Gun maker Smith & Wesson hit a revenue record during their last fiscal year, which ended April 30. Preliminary numbers show that sales were up 43% over the previous year and hit $580 million. CNN Money reports that, "Earnings were a record $1.22 a share, up from 40 cents a share in the prior fiscal year."
It is hard to judge who Smith & Wesson should thank most: Gun-grabber President Obama, murdered-child-exploiter Piers Morgan, or insufferable-sell-out Joe Scarborough.

Weird. Why spend the time and money to place a bullet in the casing?
I woulduh just dropped a couple of boxes that I have handy.
Seems you could just do your photo set and get on with your day by shooting what you just shot .
A two fer...
Uh, yeah. That’s the first thing I noticed too. Display pieces? But why not just use brass with no primer and just the slug inserted. Weird. And why so many? Maybe that’s what their shipping to the feds. LOL!
Some ad agency was too scared to tale a pic of live rounds so they hired someone to ‘reload’ spent cases for safety reasons. And bumped the cost to everyone involved.
Bet me that ain’t the truth ;)
That’s a lot of duds.
Soon, this will be the only kind of ammo that you will be able to buy in California or New York.
Waiting for the pork lined bullet line for our muzzie friends
They sure do....looks like they’ve been deep-struck too. If it were my gun, especially a revolver, I’d change out the firing pin. Too much chance of a split primer on impact.
Maybe in a state where you couldn’t have that much ammo or something.
Maybe one of those "other" 57 states, since .22 is typically sold in "bricks" of 500+ rounds.
I celebrated Zero's immaculation in 2009 by purchasing some Smith & Wesson stock -- I only wish I had bought more.
Tell me the last time you were able to buy a brick (500rds) of 22LR. Most places now sell it by the lowest boxed count of 50. Walmart where I live limits 22LR and 9mm to one box per customer. Not to say you can't find it, and there has been some loosening lately with the supply of 22LR, but you will search far and wide and wider to get say 5000 rds at 5 cents a round - best I've been able to do in that department was 10 cents..
“Side note: Why do all these primers look like they’ve already been fired?”
That’s because they are dummies made up for this purpose with dead primers and no powder. I picked up a a handful of different rounds at several shooting sports trade shows years ago. They were handed out as “party favors” — several different vendors had them.

I got in line behind a jack-wad that had the whole family come with him and each buy to the limit (two boxes per caliber).
No wonder Walmart is always out of ammo.
I actually have a 1000 round "brick" on back order from Cabela's now. (I don't mind. They will eventually ship it. I have enough .22 for now and I love finding "surprise" packages of ammo on my doorstep!)
500+ round "bricks" are for sale on the gun auction sites right now -- at silly prices for sure -- but the manufacturers are running 24/7 and somebody is buying their production. Maybe it's those smiling clerks at WalMart?
That picture makes no sense.
So do I... Two in fact. From Cabellas....Winchester M-22 in 1000 round bricks...they have delayed it twice already.
When I ordered it they accepted it IN STOCK and then reneged, and then again and again....let me know when you get yours.
It is a sad state when you have to go find 22LR at an auction site is about all I can say.
BTW, I plink in my basement using a 22 SA Revolver and a heavy duty trap...I recently tried some of that CTD Aguila Super Colibri (bullet and primer - no powder)...it’s a lotta fun and quiet. Won’t cycle a semi auto, though...anyway 500 rounds for $49.59 wasn’t bad given circumstances.
I’ve always tried to not do that. When there were times that only two boxes or like that were available and the guy behind me wanted the same, I let him have one....
