This may be an older video (or may not) showing an IED explosion in the Middle East...While there is no 'blood and guts' per se, it pretty apparent what's happening...
How this explosion comes about is what is shocking...
What precipitates the detonation that is shocking?
Yeah...I see a military vehicle and a kaboom...where is the shocking part?
Apparently the shocking part is that the drone that monitored this monitored the person who planted the IED 24 hours before.
But it’s a youtube video....so okay.
This does not seem to be video from a drone. The POV is pretty constant, the the voice says that a day has elapsed, the timer confirms this, yet camera angles are similar. A flying drone might, I think, orbit around rather than hover.
I wonder if that video is connected to Brandon Bryant?
He recalls watching helplessly as insurgents buried an IED in a road and a U.S. Humvee drove over it.
“We had no way to warn the troops,” he said. He later learned that three soldiers died.
(but this wasn’t a Humvee)

Why is this in News/Activism? Methinks it belongs in Chat.
Would it be newsworthy if somebody important like an American Idol contestant was killed?
What is shocking, at least to me and the fella doing the narration is that the IED was filmed by the drone 24 hours before the IED blew up a truck driven by American soldiers...
Like the narrator says, that explosion and dead Americans could have been prevented; stopped...
You're a tough crowd...I apparently mistakenly thought Americans and especially FReepers would be concerned about this type of thing going on...
Wow! Thanks for description.
>> What precipitates the detonation that is shocking?
I wrote that hoping to get some details on the event without going to the youtube video. That’s all.
Look at Stars and Stripes.
This maybe the same video a sensor operator shot for a Predator UAV.
He is deeply troubled that he was unable to do anything.
Don't be offended. Of course we care about American troops in harm's way. This just doesn't appear to be a news story. It's more on the order of a field report.

No doubt.
Still your outrage. America has been fighting wars since its inception, and the sacrifices of those millions is appreciated by all Freepers (including this Army brat).
Major battles are 'news' -- solitary skirmishes and engagements with the enemy are not. In fact, I hate the fact that our military guys have cameras and lawyers hovering over their every move in these recent wars.
The wet panty liberals and Commies in our gov't have put our service people at great risk, due to the suicidal ROEs and micromanaging of every bullet fired.
They send our guys off to fight, then tie their hands, while their ever-present minders watch for the slightest sign of a real warrior ethic. As soon as they spot it, they come down like a ton of bricks on guys who are between a rock and a hard place, and are just trying to keep their buddies alive.
Ask me, I wish we knew a lot LESS about what our guys do on their missions. Get the lawyers and the cameras off the battlefield and let them do what they're trained to do. If the scum sucking libtards in Washington can't do that, then bring them all home!
Has this video been associated with an incident, as in do we know when and where it happened and if people were hurt? The reason I ask is that this seems to be some sort of exercise. The video is just too convenient. I’d like to know more before I jump to conclusions.
I have friends in the Marines who clear roads of IEDs.
Wouldn’t that be a HEMTT, porkchop1948?
Appreciated, just not newsworthy, like rumors about the possible content of Glenn Beck’s next episode, or the latest ramblings from Jeb Bush about the fertility of immigrants.
