I think Nixon was cheated out of the electoral votes of Illinois and Texas in 1960--but there would have been no way to prove it. The evidence would have mysteriously disappeared--like it did in Landslide Lyndon's 1948 primary election win the first time he ran for the Senate.
Al Gore never was ahead in Florida--if he had ever been ahead by one vote, the race would have been called in his favor. He just needed more time to steal more votes.

The FL electoral vote count was sent to DC, as per law, while the silly court shenanigans were going on. There wasn't a thing any court could have done about it, even Scotus.

Let it not be forgotten that the liberal media declared Florida for Gore an hour before the polls closed in the heavily-conservative panhandle, which probably depressed Bush’s turnout by thousands of voters (”Why go vote after work since Gore has already won?”.
