Well they have said that they would use drones against US citizens on foreign soil.

He should probably go to Russia. And then Russia could announce that Snowden is in Russia. And since our intelligence doesn’t believe anything Russia tells us (ex. Boston Bombers), Snowden would be completely safe.

That’s probably why he left the Hong Kong hotel, because he found out there’s a hit on him.

> President Obama is no stranger to killing in the national interest. He has conducted more known or suspected assassinations than any president ever. The White House claims the president has the power to order the death of an American abroad, like Snowden, but Mr. Obama’s lawyers refuse to explain how or why this is constitutional. They simply say “trust us,” which these days is not their strongest argument. But they know the issue will not be tested in court because the only people with standing to sue are dead before they get the chance.

“trust me” - one of the most commonly used phrases used by conmen the works over...

He’s no dummy and the last thing he did before going away was secret squirrelling away a ton of dirty laundry.

It would be reasonable at some point for him to tell the DarkPowers what would eventuate if they PinkMisted him.

Right?

Bigger question is, will he put out a hit on Glenn Greenwald?

After all, Greenwald has his stuff, and is in a position to drip...drip....drip it out for the rest of his Second Term.

Will he? What would I have any cause to think he already hasn’t?

The thing the Obama crowd has been trying to avoid - the favorable opinion of the American people going into the dumper - is now in the dumper.

Two-thirds of the American people believe Obama is not what he claims to be. So, the rat is already out of the bag.

Going after Snowden like he was Osama bin Laden will only prove how desperate Obama really is.

Mr. Snowden needs a wealthy American patriot to run interference for him, moving him to safety and helping him wake up America.

“I did not believe that literally,” Gellman wrote, “but I knew he had reason to fear.”

Oh, c'mon! Didn't he see Enemy of the State with Gene Hackman?

The first response to Snowden was certainly technical:

They’ll be pouring over data logs to try to gain as clear a picture as possible of all the data he had access to, another way of saying “what he copied and will hold over our heads”.

They’re probably still doing that.

They’ll also be doing an max damage assessment in case they decide to PinkMist/staircase/suicide him.

They’ll be afraid of is if they don’t bite the bullet and PinkMist him in some very public way then his example could inspire other whistle-blowers; more problems to deal with.

So there is a real calculus here, for them to mull over, totally aside from the physical search for him.

But Julian Assnage and Pfc Manning are heroes to him.

According to Obama, not only is this guy a candidate for a drone bomb, but so would I if I went to Paris for vacation and they suddenly “ruled” that I was a threat.

Of course, they don’t have to tell you any of that because it’s for American’s safety. Of course.

Snowden hasn’t been heard from since yesterday. Maybe he is already dead.

Just make him disappear like Jimmy Hoffa. No body and a thousand theories about what happen to him.

Tough call on this one. I think he should have simply quit and kept his mouth shut, though what he did was, IMHO heroic. It was also illegal and they now have the proof that they need to “disappear” him. If he was as good a spook as he said he was, he should’ve tried to do this more anonymously and it makes me wonder why he is out, immediately claiming credit for this.

Almost everyone in the world is looking for this guy, just imagine what he’d be worth to 1) the US, 2) Russia, 3)China, etc. He probably has tons more info on classified programs that he is saving as his life insurance, but in the end, he broke the law. He is as good as dead. If he goes to Russia for “asylum” his days there will probably no be pleasant, and he will be confined to a mental institution from all of the interrogation he will undergo. Perhaps he is of the Nathan Hale cloth in that he only regrets he has one life to give for his country. I just can’t at this moment, understand his motivations, and it is difficult to take what he is saying at face value, after all he is a spook.

The whole scenario is developing with leading pubbies condemning the kid as a traitor. You can bet the kid can’t get a life insurance policy. One wouldn’t put past Bam to whack him, as his (Bam’s) policies have demonstrated.

If they want to kill him, they will find him and they will kill him. No one can hide forever. May take time, but if they truly want this guy, they will run him to ground. He would have to hide in Russia or China or North Korea to be even close to safe.
