WASHINGTON (AP) Six months after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, some of the victims families are heading to Capitol Hill to remind lawmakers they are painfully waiting for action, while some of the presidents allies are asking him to do more without any new prospects of legislation to toughen gun laws.
The lobbying visit Tuesday and Wednesday is one of several observances gun control proponents are planning for the half-year anniversary of the Dec. 14 massacre of 20 first graders and six staff in Newtown, Conn. The Sandy Hook families and other activists are keeping pressure on lawmakers to expand background purchases for firearm sales, despite Senate rejection of the measure in April and no indication votes have shifted.
Nicole Hockley, who lost 6-year-old Dylan at Sandy Hook, said their familys pain has only gotten worse as time goes by without the younger of their two sons at home. She says the fight for new laws, which theyve also taken to several states, has left them emotionally exhausted, but they wont give up no matter how long it takes.
It is very disappointing that six months have passed, and although we are making progress in individual states, we arent making progress on the federal level when it comes to background checks when an overwhelming number of Americans support it, she said in a telephone interview...

There’s a shortage of .22 lr, so, whenever I see it on the shelves, I’m buying all I can get...
wonder why there’s a shortage?
Looks like panic buying to me.
So, she doesn’t realize that more kids die when lunatics go into schools knowing that they will not be stopped because guns are outlawed.
She has no knowledge of history where 100 million plus people have died because the government took away their guns.
She should explain how good gun gun control is to a holocaust survivor!
Yep, that was my point...
In 1973 Johnny Carson created a nationwide panic buying shortage of toilet paper with some offhand joke.
It’s over when they have taken the last gun from non-violent, honest citizens, and left them in the hands of violent criminals who then waltz in and take what they want from the honest people.
FUBO & Bite-ME. The two biggest phonies & assholes in DC are giving their “shocked & dismayed” looks. What a pair of assholes the dumbass sheeple have voted to supposedly be our “leaders”. These two assholes, 0dumb0sh_t & Bite-Me couldn’t lead their way out of a wet paper bag!
Liberals will never stop trying to ban all guns. It is an eternal fight for the rest of us to preserve the 2nd Amendment. It is our responsibility to be prepared for the fight.

I could never imagine her loss, but this paragraph makes it sound like only new gun laws will make her life complete again. Wake up, Mrs. Hockley, you are being used and your loss exploited.
oooh, you’re a bad influence. I aready have plenty of bad ideas but I am going out right now to get some mace. I love the idea of macing liberals.
Man I hope and pray that Biden is the Democratic nominee in 2016!
Nicole Hockley and the other parents chose to send their children to a school WITHOUT armed protection. “Gun Free” zones are a joke.....only the honest people abide by the liberal’s stupid signs, NOT crazed killers.
Instead of protecting THEIR kids, the Nicole Hockley’s of the world want to punish all of us for a crime we did not commit, and they want to take away OUR right to protect our loved ones, and OUR country.
I’ve had my fill of these crusading Sandy Hook families. Go away.
As desperate as they are to disarm us, you really have to ask what they want to do to us as soon as we lose (they think) the means to resist.
