Glenn Beck, who has been doing radio since 1979, estimates that he has said roughly 89 million words on the air.
Thats a lot of words.
The conservative entrepreneur recently learned that he has temporarily lost the ability that so many of us take for granted the ability to speak. Doctors informed Beck that his vocal chords have been temporarily paralyzed. The effects will come and go, but thankfully it is a repairable condition, he explained.
However, left with no choice but to remain uncharacteristically silent at times, Beck during his TV show on Monday wondered how many of the millions of words that he has said in the past actually contained real meaning, how many of those words were used to lift people up instead of tear them down.
Using only note cards and music, Beck delivered a moving and at times tearful monologue without speaking a single word. He reflected on the man he once was and the man he is now, which he says are two very different people.

Beck being tearful, or causing tears? So what else is new? I like Beck, but lost respect for him during the nomination process.
What’s going on with Glenn Beck’s health? First it was that he was losing his sight, now his voice. I hope he finds real, lasting health. He’s contributed quite a bit to the understanding of what’s behind the current regime, even if some of the time the way he has done it has given pause. I know from personal experience he can be inspiring.
Take it from someone who canceled their subscription TWICE, this is one of the most moving and important presentations you'll see.
Those who seek the truth, seek and forgive others, change but maintain courage, find themselves and God in the end.
Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Do I have to pay for a subscription to watch?
I stopped listening to his infomercial, I mean show a while back.
Seriously though, he has done a lot of research and most of what he has said has fallen on deaf ears.
Beck cries more than the wrestler, The Crying Greek From Whipple [?] Creek. Or more than John Boehunior [sp?]. That is why I stopped listening to him, all he did was cry.
May God bless, protect and heal you Mr. Beck.
Such a humble soul./s
Phoney Romney ass kissing Morgbot.
May God bless, protect and heal you Mr. Beck.
(((
I join in your prayer.
Whatever happened to Beck’s big conspiracy about the Saudi national? The story so big he was gracious enough to give the Fed’s 3 days to admit the truth.
The entire story fizzled and came to nothing. No surprise since it came from Beck - a man who constantly over promises and under delivers.
I still like Glenn, but he really needs to cut down on the theatrics. If his voice needs time to heal, no different than many other radio hosts, he should just take some time off.
While I can’t stand a lot of his bantering long term, since it can be a repetitive as Rush Limbaugh’s, his black board explanations of the relationships between groups, leaders and events are very informative.
Interesting that Beck would have trouble with his vocal chords. A conspiracy buff might wonder about the issues Rush had with his hearing as well.
