I noticed that, chalked it up to PC.
Commander Adama was a weeping whining pathetic weak sack.(hard to watch, opposite of original)
He looked tough, but was a little wimpy, and the second in command was a drunk.
President Laura Roslin
I kinda liked her, but the sympathy for her dying-from-cancer thing got a little old. I finally figured out that she (Mary McDonnell) was also the leading female actress in "Dances with Wolves" and "Independence Day".
Dr. Gaius Baltar
Yeah, I was always hoping to see him get his...I guess it was necessary to have his character in there as a tension builder...It worked.
After that I watched the sequel...Capricia, which explained some of the character development of the captain. I believe there are a few additional stand-alone episodes out there which can be found on Netflix.
I didnt see that in him. I saw he would bark and yell in frustration from time to time but he usually struck me as weak and indecisive,
He seemed to cry on the School Teacher's shoulders alot, and she would tell him what to do.
Incidently, what kind of democracy can you have traveling in space with the military running from Cylons following you and Cylon humanlike spies hidden everywhere (on the ships in space) ?
