Bolton: NSA leaker Edward Snowden is guilty of treason
WLS ^ | June 10, 2013 | John Dempsey

Posted on 06/10/2013 7:31:41 AM PDT by maggief

(CHICAGO)

(snip)

Former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton told Bruce Wolf and Dan Proft on WLS that he thinks admitted leaker Edward Snowden, is guilty of treason:

"Number one, this man is a liar. He took an oath to keep the secrets that were shared with him so he could do his job. He said said he would not disclose them, and he lied. Number two, he lied because he thinks he's smarter and has a higher morality than the rest of us. This guy thinks he has a higher morality, that he can see clearer than other 299-million 999-thousand 999 of us, and therefore he can do what he wants. I say that is the worst form of treason".

->The REAL traitor is in the building (WH)!

Isn’t that the truth. We can say this fairly because he’s transforming the constitution at every turn of his governance. And they call us extremists.

I think we can put the thread to bed by reading Texas56’s post. To argue about treason and other avenues of legal release instead of what he did is summarized perfectly by Texas’ post.

Snowden could of done all of this anonymously ala “Deep Throat”. He outed himself for the 15 minutes of fame.

I don't agree. He has given up much more than he could receive doing this. He has sacrificed his future to get this out. I applaud him.

Totally agree. He put his own skin in the game by going public. He may have saved his skin too. God speed to him!

“I am not saying the mainland Chinese gov has the interest to do this, just that in a city of 10 million, one solitary unprotected person can be scooped up any number of ways.”

Well, we’ll see if he gets scooped. Anything is possible.

Snowden himself said maybe they’ll try to extradite me, maybe they’ll have some other country deliver me to the U.S., and maybe they’ll just have the Triads deal with me.

Obama, congress and scotus have all demonstrated that we only need to follow the laws we like.

Needs repeating

Maybe they’ll loan him to the Egyptians for questioning.

I saw Bolton on Fox yesterday and was so appalled by him that I now consider him to be a “formerly solid” conservative.

He's been spending too much time at the Country Club with people like Rove, Boehner, Pelosi, Reid, and the whole crew of actors. He seems to be part of the club now.

Well John, if the 299 million 999 thousand don’t know
about it how can we make the moral or legal judgement?

He’s with the establishment, ie: McCain, Graham on this one. This will separate the freedom lovers from the one world government types.

Every single person in the congress knows about this and has not said a thing. They have signed off on it. This is why they are so unresponsive. Now it is us against them. And they by the very deffinition of the jobs that they accepted, are the ones who are treasonist. They will not see it. Do not look to them for satisfaction. They have already made their decisions to ignore the constitution, to ignore the American citizenry. The suffering that moving all this money in to plans like this, and not protecting our borders, has not been felt by Washington. They know it not. They consider it extreme; but it is so with most of America now.

These scandals are separating the true patriots from the posers, including Bolton. These career establishment types in both parties are pissed as hell because all the things they’ve condoned and turned a blind eye to are now coming to light.

If the passive ‘I have nothing to hide so this isn’t a big deal’ meme is the justification, then members of congress and every other politician should have no problem with 24/7 free public access to all of their information, too.

They work for us, after all.

Denninger finally came out with his opinion:

Thanks for the info.

Cut The Crap Obama -- And The NSA

"The seizure en-masse of data pertaining to the actions of persons not suspected of terrorism or other lawful reasons for the government to acquire and use said data is flatly unlawful as it violates The Constitution, irrespective of what pretense Mr. Douchenozzle Clapper may wish to try to arrogate to himself.

Likewise, the seizure of data from internet portals and providers, irrespective of how it is done, is unlawful if it takes place in the United States and is not supported by legal process permitted under the 4th Amendment.
Whether the data is at the time or subsequently searched is again immaterial.

James Sensenbrenner, the author of the Patriot Act, has acknowledged that The Patriot act never encompassed such a set of actions.

That's because it can't authorize such a set of actions, nor can FISA.

Programs that operate outside of the United States are arguably legal. However, to the extent that the data is seized in the United States or is between persons in the United States, then under the 4th Amendment a warrant must be issued BEFORE the seizure takes place.

Whether and/or when the data is searched is immaterial to the legality of seizing it; the 4th Amendment prohibits both suspicionless search and seizure.

Since by definition blanket seizure of records and data such as has now been disclosed to a nearly-exclusive extent seizes information from persons not under investigation for criminal activity and thus no probable cause exists there is no defense available to the NSA or anyone else for this activity."

"I say that is the worst form of treason"

Dear John,

Really?
I can't believe that this is to you the worst form of treason today in our country.

I hear this ‘about face’ rant by Bolton as an extreme call for help. He is being blackmailed just as Petrace was. William Binney, whistleblower and former NSA crypto-mathematician who served in the agency for decades, said the David Petraeus sex scandal was most likely exposed using illegal surveillance of his email.
