Dad of five faces jail for bashing burglar at business
EXCLUSIVE
By CRAIG WOODHOUSE
A DAD of five is facing jail for confronting two men who were allegedly raiding his business.
Andrew Woodhouse is accused of GBH with intent.
But wife Lisa told The Sun he was trying to defend himself after one alleged raider came at him with a plank as he chased them off. Mr Woodhouse grabbed the wood and allegedly used it on Kevin Green, 52, injuring both his legs and an arm.
The offence carries a maximum LIFE sentence.
Mr Woodhouse, 43, was woken at night by a burglar alarm put in his home after previous raids on his nearby paving firm in Abergavenny, South Wales.
The other alleged burglar, Timothy Cross, 31, is said to have fled and returned with a third man, both wielding planks.
Mr Woodhouse rugby-tackled one and waited for the police.
Green and Cross were charged with theft of fuel from the firm in March. Both will appear at Cwmbran Magistrates Court on Thursday as will Mr Woodhouse after the Crown Prosecution Service decided he used unreasonable force.
But Lisa said: What was Andrew to do? Let them belt him?
The case comes just months after the law was changed to protect people who use force against burglars. But it only applies in their homes, not if intruders are chased outside.
Mr Woodhouses MP, Tory David Davies, called the move to charge him astonishing.
Facing jail ... Andrew Woodhouse
I am pro-gun, pro-American, pro-Israeli, anti-Piers Morgan.
Conservative, UKIP voter, ex-Tory, never supported socialism in my life and never will. Anti-unrestricted immigration, antiextremist Islam.
Proud UK gun owner, campaigner against UK gun laws past and present, and served seven years in the military as a Para. So very patriotic and very pro-military.
Thats my POV.
thanks but this does not surprise me at all, the UK has become a messed up country
I really don’t know much about your POV other than your comments over the times I’ve run into them.
Your statements just now don’t somehow match many of the comments I’ve seen on FR. Maybe you just enjoy being a pot stirrer. I don’t know, and truth to tell, don’t care all that much.
You’re a mealy mouthed liar spewing the same misinformation as your buddy Piers Morgan. Everything you post is a lie.
YES. The fact is there are far more violent crimes committed in the UK per 100,000 people than in the U.S.
You've claimed on this forum in the past that there are less murders in the UK than the U.S. That's false too. There are more MURDERS committed in the U.K. per 100,000 people than there are in the U.S. Those murders in the UK may not happen by gun because of the UK's stupid gun ban, so they happen by other means, by knife being #1. So why doesn't the UK ban knives next?
Then you claim there are more gun murders in the US than there are in the UK. Again, FALSE. Looking at the numbers of gun related murders in the UK per 100,000 people, the UK ranks as the 67th most violent country in the world according to the United Nations. The United States is #127.
Even the UN understands the difference between murder, suicide and self defense and has proven that the actual murder rate in the US is much lower than that of the UK.
What you post is garbage, not even worthy of being called propaganda.
Right, so your personal experience translates into what? Your personal experience is IRRELEVANT. Facts speak for themselves.
‘You’ve claimed on this forum in the past that there are less murders in the UK than the U.S. That’s false too.’
Really?. Because according to this link below, the UK had 722 murders to USA’s 14,748.

Oh, and UNDOC is the United Nations you are fond of quoting.

Those figures show the following:
murder rate per 100000
UK 1.2
US 4.8
‘Then you claim there are more gun murders in the US than there are in the UK. Again, FALSE.’
TRUE.
The US rate per 100000 is 10.3
The UK rate per 100000 is 0.25

‘Gun Murders in England, Scotland and Wales 2011/12’

SO.....
America’s murder rate is FOUR times the UK’s
America’s gun murder rate is FORTY ONE times the UK’s
America has almost 15000 murders a year
Britain has around 600-700 a year
America has almost 11000 gun homicides a year
Britain has less than 50.
The only garbage, lies and propaganda being posted is by you.
‘The number of homicides recorded by the police in 2011/12 (550) fell by 14 percent compared with 2010/11, homicide is at its lowest level since 1983 (when 550 were also recorded). The reducing trend in murder and homicide is reflected in a reduction in attempted murder (down 8%) and serious violence (GBH and ABH down 8%) across England and Wales.’

SO.....Americas gun murder rate is NINE times the UKs....
You see, when I make an error, I check it and correct it.
America’s gun murder rate is NINE TIMES the UK’s, not 41 times as I originally posted. Overall, the US rate IS 41 times the UK rate of gun deaths.
Only nine?. Break out the champagne. Watch out, at this rate, you’ll be civilised in a decade or two.
>> “Watch out, at this rate, youll be civilised in a decade or two.” <<
.
If caving in to brutal criminals is civilization.
Quick, down on your knees and beg for your life like a civilized man.
Sarcasm lost on you?.
British apology is definitely lost on me.
Apology?. The British dont apologise for anything!.
LOL
Neither did Hitler or Stalin.
Nevertheless, your comment was “apology.”
Nice to see you finally admit to being a liar.
