Sen. Marco Rubio said the government surveillance programs that leapt back into the news this week are subject to "intense congressional oversight," and represent a difficult balance of privacy issues and national security interests.
He also suggested they are here to stay.
"Much of what that program involves is classified," Rubio said in an interview Thursday with Florida reporters, referring to the report about NSA phone monitoring. "I'll tell you that program is part of intense congressional oversight. It's a program members are aware of and they get to review from time to time and see how it's being applied."
A member of the Intelligence Committee, Rubio hedged when asked if the phone monitoring program was being misused.

Stick a fork in Rubio, he’s done.
If he isn’t done he should be.

Wow, Marco, that makes me feel so much better. After seeing IRS agents mock your colleagues to their faces in testimony ("Easter egg roll"), refuse to testify after testifying (the Lerner beeotch) and simply not comply with Congressional demands for production of documents, yes, knowing Congress is "overseeing" the surveillance of every American puts my mind to rest.
Marco Rubio = big disappointment.

Anyone who still thinks we have anyone in office that supports the US Constitution is a moron, it doesn’t matter which party they are in, they are ALL traitors.

I am disappointed in you Marco, but then you did come from a very “troubled” Florida GOP machine where cash is King and core values are a liability.

Be glad when the truth comes out that both parties are actually wanting to push this nation into a nationalism set up. They are so close. Power hungry doesn't even describe this any longer. Blatant abuse of constitutional authority right in our faces. We never had a debate to determine if the majority of American citizens wanted this much spying and secret gathering of our personal information, Mr. Rubio. I think Mr. Rubio is showing us what goes on behind the curtain. It is the powerful ruling class versus the millions of people they want to control. How can you explain it. What's next/cameras in our homes and cars? Rubio acts like, no big deal. He's done in my book and I think he knows it so he protects those that will accept him into the reformation club. We have no leader at this time/just us patriots holding on together.

"...intense congressional oversight..." So, in other words, Congress is also responsible for trampling the Constitution and our Freedom. To prison all traitors. Didn't these congressional bums take an oath. Congress's new theme: Constitution? We don't need no steeeenkin' Constitution. Freedom is soooo overrated .
