Concern in Congress is mounting over broad surveillance by the Obama administration as new revelations surfaced that the National Security Administration is monitoring Internet usage.
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee is shopping bills that would address some portions of the government monitoring, an aide said, particularly the NSA collection of Verizon phone records. His legislation would likely be similar to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act amendments that he pushed last year with fellow senators like Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).
translation: Ooops....this is one thing the Under-30 yutes actually care enough to get worked up about. Time to cover our backsides.
NSA will check their Data Base and Congress(cough) will love what the NSA is doing
Shut it down. Burn it to the ground. Put everyone involved in prison for ten years, minimum.
Not sure I wanna know.
Is that like the Federal Bureau of Investigators?
Yup. They’ve apparently known what was going on all along. It’s only when WE find out and complain that they get worried. Yeah. Worried they might not get re-elected.
“Concern” in Congress is mounting......
Riiiggghhht! More like they have risen for a moment from their slumber...only to roll over again as usual and ease back into their comfort zones.
They’ll all be “talking” about how tragic this is...but not one will act on it....we’re hearing them speak left and right...just words no action...and it will remain so...regardless of any investigations....the people responsible will be protected and long gone before we will see any action...and then it’ll be swept clean.
Nah. Just put their families on a list of those forbidden anything but palliative care in Obamacare.
Like they were fixin’ to do to us.
“.....Shut it down. Burn it to the ground. Put everyone involved in prison for ten years, minimum”....
Too late...and not realistic...these storage bases are already throughout the world...
Keep in mind the information is already passed Globally. Laws can be made...but mean nothing whatsoever unless people are caught...and even then they will be protected by other laws....we are in a no win situation because it’s just too dang late.
“There is A TIME for everything done under the sun”.....
It’s never too late.
Yep...they’re flooding us with scandals and otherwise information....and not enough people to oversee these nor have hearings on...spin spin spin....and they are loving it.
<....”THERE IS ONLY ONE ANSWER TO ALL THIS”....>
Really? Looks to me like it’s well past midnight...and you can’t turn the clock back.
This thing is past our borders...
<...”It’s never too late”...>
Wishful thinking isn’t helpful....there was a time this might have been true...but this entire thing is beyond just the US...and inclusive on the International Stage.
So how would you determine a “fix”...????
>> More Kabuki theater to take our attention off the REAL scandals
I agree. It is simply implausible to see the NSA thrust into such a political fiasco.
Just stop feeding it information.
Better yet, feed it BAD information.
There are lots of ways to make information useless. Error is one. Time is another.
Oh really....and who is going to do that when the information is already out there to cross check...and this even outside our borders.
Anything that’s out there this second is a minute old a minute from now.
And 5 minutes old 5 minutes from now.
Remember the old westerns where the Indians would be dancing and banging drums in a circle. When they were doing that the cowboys knew they were safe.
It’s when the Indians got quiet that cowboys needed to worry.
Get quiet. As quiet as possible.
Nah. They have grown up with technology in such a way that the question of privacy was seldom if ever even considered. I doubt they can yet make the connection between abuse of technology, growth of government and totalitarianism. Sadly, they willwhen the jackboots take away their toys.
