A federal judge on Wednesday ordered HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to allow 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan to be moved to the adult lung transplant list, giving her a better chance of receiving a potentially life-saving transplant.

The quick and unusual ruling, made after a hastily scheduled emergency hearing, follows a campaign by the family and some members of Congress to pressure the Obama administration to change a federal policy that puts children under age 12 at the bottom of the list of those who can receive donated adult lungs.

This is what we can expect under Obamacare. Doctors will be fined or even jailed for failing to follow the “approved” treatment protocol. Imagine how parents will react when they find their newborn child will be denied care in the NICU because government protocols based on statistical outcomes determine the child is not worth treating. Ditto for older people. Grandma at a spry 85 falls and can be helped with a hip replacement... the protocols will decide she is not worth the cost of a hip replacement and send her untreated to die bedridden in a nursing home. What scares a LOT of freepers is stories where people have been in an ER that have had serious but not life threatening injuries who filled out donor cards who were “neglected” intentionally so the doctors could part them out like a “nice car in a bad neighborhood”....

This is one of the major things that scares the hell out of a lot of people who would otherwise fill out an organ donor card...

You don;t wanna go in for a heart attack only to die because some unscrupulous doctor wanted to part you out. And if the IRS gets to running the Obama Care, can you say “China”....

In my opinion they cannot develop the technology to “print” out organs fast enough....

It should be personal choice and that's that. I'm a donor, my wife is not. She has very specific reasons - known problems and history of certain diseases and other issues in her family, etc...

My reasons - none specifically. If'n I'm dead, I don't need 'em no more. There is concern about bad people killing me off to get the organs, but I'm not in that great of shape to begin with, so they'd be like seconds or thirdsies. No bigwig is gonna want 'em.
