President Barack Obama's signature health care reform law remains unpopular with the American public just months before it fully goes into effect, according to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
The poll shows 49 percent of Americans say they believe the Affordable Care Act is a bad idea. Thats the highest number recorded on this question since the poll began measuring it in 2009. Just 37 percent say the plan is a good idea.
As the political battle over implementation of the law heats up in Washington, the numbers mark an increase in unpopularity since July 2012, right after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Obamas overhaul. Back then, 44 percent of NBC/WSJ poll respondents called it a bad idea, vs. 40 percent who called it a good one.

And the dems want to try to leverage this to their advantage in the 2014 elections. OK, donks... give it your best shot.
I don’t know how it could be done .. or even IF it could be done .. but the best thing for America is for this monstrosity to just disappear.
Even with the ignorance that put the A-Hole in Chief in office twice, I do not elieve 37% favor the plan. Oh wait they still believe what the Liar in Chief said the plan would do. Never mind.
The whole thing is going to crash and burn in a totally unpredictable way that is going to make everyone hate it — including it’s intended beneficiaries. It’s a totally unworkable boondoggle that never had any possibility of working.
Regardless of his reasons, Roberts may have done the country a favor here. The old fashioned treatment for treating a dog with a rattlesnake bite used to be chopping its tail off. The shock to the dog’s system would either kill it, or kick it into high enough gear to fight off the poison.
The shock of Obamacare on the US, when it hits, just might have a similar effect. Of course, I might be grasping at straws here, but sometimes straws are all you have.

Most importantly, they haven’t gotten the bill yet.
And very few people have experienced the massive hit to their paychecks yet.
When that happens, look out. Unpopular will not begin to describe the mobilization of pitchforks, tar and feathers that will result.
Rpbert’s decision was worth 8 Senators ~ had we taken control of the Senate. That’s because tax measures ~ and ObamaKKKare is clearly a tax measure ~ can’t be filibustered. Running Romney was the problem ~ we had a chance to take over the senate but he blew it.
As if Hussein gives a damn. He and Hitlery LET AL QAEDA KILL AMERICANS BEGGING FOR HELP last September 11.
What would make ANYONE think they give an ounce of concern to Americans’ opinions?
I’ve been thinking about that. The takers in the health care system are used to just walking up to the emergency care unit and getting their free care. Now they’re going to have to make appointments and wait for care, pay deductibles, go to big-brother indoctrination sessions if they’re fat, pay insurance if they have jobs, be assessed for mental health, fill in forms, have permanent records kept on them,...
Actually, that makes sense-I could just never put it into words before...so thank you for that analogy.
Well, at least according to Hillbuzz, he does that regularly. . . sort of. Minus all the medical stuff, but he IS reportedly getting. . . probed. . .
Upchuck Schumer believes he knows how to leverage this reaction to the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” into a positive for the Democrats in 2014. But maybe this is just whistling past the graveyard.
There is no way the negatives that are part of this atrocity can ever be abstracted from the very nature of the implementation. The Death Panels are there, to be named by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and since there is not enough “public awareness” of the benefits, Secretary Sebelius is also given the task of raising funds to “educate” the public.
The best recommendation for this huge travesty is repeal, a recommendation we may be sure shall never be acted upon by the Current Regime in the White Hut. But it is an extremely expensive ornament that is a total black hole, sucking up all the tax revenues, the savings of individual Americans, the available medical resources, the future of full faith and trust in the US currency, and the attention of even the most uninformed out there.
But even all this may not be enough to jar loose the properly directed rage at the huge fraud and swindle that has been pulled by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, “We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it”.
I have suggested before, that the territory once known as “the United States of America” be fractured into two (or more) republics, the portion considered to be “red” area (divided by Congressional districts, not state lines) to be one part, subject to the provisions of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, and the various “blue republics, subject to a different founding document, “Obamacare”, which actually defines a whole new code of governance.
The “red” region has the advantage of being nearly contiguous, while the “blue” regions are badly fragmented, and would necessarily have separate governments, rather like the PLO in Palestine, divided between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Exactly.
Wonderful, but the masses will still vote for what they think is freebies from the gov.
Yeah yeah yeah but nobody associates OBAMA CARE with Obama so he’s still the big guy.
How many of the 49% who disapprove wnat it to be replaced with single payer Canadian style Health care?
I was thinking the other day about the Franklin quote that went something like; the only thing certain are death and taxes.
Odd, now we will have the same agency in charge of both.
Are we fundamentally transformed yet?
