I actually disagree with this. The crime WAS brutal, but she is no longer a threat and she has paid sufficiently for her crimes. We let gang bangers out of jail every day who are 100% more of a threat to all of us than she is. The parole board is playing politics to public opinion and the media.

Personally, I think she should have been executed years, and years, and years ago. Gotta' look at the crime scene photos to appreciate what cruel monsters they were. It's a shame that, even every 5 years, we have to listen to her try to get out.

SkyPilot, I’m not going to rag on you for your personal beliefs on this one, but I could never agree to release a woman who stabbed someone in the back between 12 and 20 times.
I base this on the fact that the murdered person will never live at all, let alone be free on the streets.
The families of these victims have spent decades waiting for justice. The death penalties were changed to life in prison with the possibility of parole, and never should have been.
They can fry Leslie with my blessing, but they can’t release her with my agreement.
She may or may not have gotten religion in prison. Don’t do the crime if you can’t pay the time.

A) whether she is a threat is irrelevant
B) whether gang bangers get off easier is also irrelevant, the balance is restored by hanging them, not letting a murderer go free
C) She can’t live long enough to “pay her debt”. The debt cannot be paid. It’s about retribution and punishment-see (A)
When the people she helped slaughter are alive again to enjoy their lives, then she should be set free to enjoy hers. Not one second before.

I like the Japanese system. Put them on Death row and don’t tell them when the deed will be done. Could be tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. Surprise, surprise.
I might go for that if we can leave her homeless and destitute in the worst part of LA.
Problems is, as bmwcyle mentioned, she would probably get a job as a “professor” at some university, where she do even more harm.
Threat has little to do with it. She has no right to her freedom, she forfeited that when she helped to murder two innocent people in their home.
